Halloween Costumes
Aspen students WILL be allowed to wear costumes to school on Thursday, October 31. Please note that there are guidelines about the types of costumes students may wear to school. This is still an academic day and students will be completing assignments in class. For this reason, students need to wear age appropriate costumes. No masks, fake blood, or weapons of any kind are allowed. No face painting for the school day. We want Halloween to be a fun filled and academic day for everyone! If you have any questions about a costume, please call the office .
Highlight of the Week!
Roadrunners know all about making healthy choices! To celebrate Ribbon Week, our students participated in spirit dress up days, a fun estimation jar activity, a hunt for red ribbons, and signed a pledge to be "Happy and Healthy." Thank you to PFA for planning an awesome week!
Socktober
To kick off Student Council this year, Aspen will be participating in Socktober. SOCKTOBER is an annual, month-long campaign designed to show people that ordinary acts of love can make a big difference. It can all start with socks. During the month of October we would like to collect new socks for the homeless. If you are interested in contributing new socks for men, women, children and babies, please bring them to Room 7 or drop them off in the office.

Parking Lot Safety
The following guidelines will assist us in keeping our students safe in the parking lot:
- Proceed in the Aspen parking lot at no more than 5 miles per hour.
- Walk with your child across the parking lot using the marked crosswalk.
- Do not allow your child to walk unattended between cars.
- Stay in the right hand lane, move all the way forward, and drop your student off from the right side of the vehicle.
- Never leave your vehicle unattended in the drive-thru lanes.
- Follow the California Vehicle Code laws.
- Remind your child to respect people’s property.
Consider the following:
- You may pull up to the curb at the front of the school to drop off your student.
- You may park on the street on Oberlin or Marlowe and walk your student on campus.
- Please do not block driveways.
- Be mindful of labeled No Parking zones near the crosswalks.
- The gates at the front of the school will be open for entry and exit. There will not be access through the gate on Marlowe.
- Arrange with your student ahead of time a location for pickup.
