Dear PTA Members,

We hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend!

We’d like to extend a special thank you to our amazing Curriculum Enrichment Committee for organizing last week's character assembly. The students had a great time learning important lessons about bullying and respect. A huge thank you also goes to our dedicated Book Fair Committee for their hard work in putting together a successful book fair for our students.

Just a reminder that this week is our PTA meeting. We will be meeting virtually during the day, and we hope many of you can join us. During the PTA meeting this month, our peer leaders will present this year's South Woods CARES fundraising plan, along with details about the upcoming Walkathon. South Woods Admin Team will also be available to answer any questions about clubs and how they operate. Details on how to connect will be sent out soon.

Lastly, please don’t forget to check out our exciting Chrome Book Decal fundraiser! It’s a fun way to support our school and give the students some personalized flair for their Chromebooks.

"Reflections'' is a National PTA arts recognition program for students in grades K-12. Students may enter in any of the categories: Visual Arts, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Dance Choreography, and Film Production. All participants will receive an award at a South Woods Reflections Ceremony! And submitted works could result in awards at state and national levels. This year's theme is "Accepting Imperfection".

Deadline for entries is October 28th.

Attached for your review are the Proposed NYS PTA Resolutions for 2024. In the interest of time, we will not be reading the Resolutions in their entirety at our October meeting. The Retentions are unmodified Resolutions, while the Updates are Resolutions that are being revised to maintain accuracy or relevance. The changes are noted in the attached packets.
