Principal's Notes
Dr. Matt Thompson-High School
Greetings, Rangers!
I am excited to share that the school year is off to a great start, and I want to commend our students for their excellent behavior and strong performance thus far. Their dedication to the classroom and respect for those around them are commendable and are laying the foundation for a successful year.
At Forest Park Senior High, we are dedicated to providing a strong curricular experience that goes beyond the classroom. Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to excel academically while also offering opportunities for real-world experiences. Whether through hands-on projects, internships, or community engagement, we strive to connect classroom learning with practical applications, preparing our students for success in college, careers, and life.
Thank you for your continued partnership. Together, we can ensure that our students reach their full potential this year!

Social Worker Scoop
Hello Ranger Community!
My name is Haylee Hoffman and I am the Home School Advisor for Cedar Crest Intermediate School and Forest Park Jr./Sr. high school. You may be wondering, what does the Home School Advisor do? I will be supporting students who may be experiencing anxiety, depression or other mental health struggles, students who require behavioral assistance in order to meet classroom expectations, as well as any other personal, relational, and social concerns that may arise. Additionally, I plan to conduct small group sessions in order to be proactive in the school’s efforts to promote positive interactions within our student population. I am assigned to the FP building on Monday's, Tuesday's, and Thursday's. My office is located within the guidance office/next to the nurse. I will be stationed at Cedar Crest on Wednesday's and Friday's. You can find me in the first office on the right as you enter the front doors of the building. I have attached a form below that can be used by a student or parent/guardian to request counseling services. Please feel free to utilize this for quick communication or you can email me @ Haylee.hoffman@sedubois.k12.in.us! I can also be reached via phone at (812) 817-0900 ext. 2006.
I am honored to be a part of the Southeast Dubois School Corporation and to serve the Ranger Community!

8th Grade: Courses for High School Credit
The following classes are being taught for high school credit in the 8th grade: Spanish I, German I, Algebra I, Physical Education, and Preparing for College and Careers (Mrs. Dilger’s section ONLY).
Students will receive high school credit for these classes, and the semester grade will also be included on the student’s high school transcript.
Taking courses for high school credit is a great opportunity for our students, however; students need to make sure they are doing their best as they begin earning grades that will be reflected on their transcripts.
Any female students interested in attending this event should contact Mrs. Dilger for details.

4 Good Community Educational Relief Donation Day
To reward students for their participation in the Jr. High Ranger Bucks program last year, Forest Park 8th and 9th graders will have the opportunity to participate in Amazon’s 4 Good Community Educational Relief Donation Day on September 4th.
4 Good Community believes that everyone should have the access to pursue a generous heart - and believes it is just as special to give than to receive! Donation Day allows students to pick everyday household items that they believe would benefit their family or friends in some way. Items range in size and value but the biggest hope is that students never forget how valuable an opportunity to be generous is!
Permission forms will be sent home with 8th and 9th grade students and will be required for students to participate. We will be in need of parent volunteers on this day to assist with sorting and unboxing items, beginning around 7:30 AM. Parents who are interested in volunteering would need to have a current background check on file or completed. Parents who are interested in volunteering should contact Audrey Fleck at audrey.fleck@sedubois.k12.in.us.
