FAFSA WORKSHOP
Monday, Dec. 2, 6-7:30PM in the North Cafeteria
The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis will be available to answer questions about the FAFSA form and financial aid and help complete the form. In preparation for attending, all students and most parents will need to create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID, which is a username and password. These IDs must be created at least 3-5 days prior to filing the FAFSA. Click here for more information about the FSA IDs.
In addition, students and families will need to bring their own computer and have this list of information on hand when completing the FAFSA.
Cars Picking Up in the Commons Parents who are picking up in the Commons, please do not park along the side of the road that parallels Maple Lane while waiting to pick up. You are taking up one of the lanes of a two lane road and it is making it hard for our students to safely navigate in and out of the back lots. We have parking spots available in that lot where you can wait. It would even be better to line up in the lines inside the parking area.
Current Lindbergh 9th Graders LindberghIMPACT, a new school model inside of LHS, will start next year. Is it right for your child? Learn more about IMPACT on our website and sign up for the AN information session HERE.
Volunteer Musicians Needed Are you a musician who would like to spread some holiday cheer this year? Whether you sing or play an instrument, the Holiday House Tour & Boutique would love for you to sign up to provide some entertainment on December 8. Check out the sign up to see where you could fill in and let your talents shine! Every musician will receive a free ticket to the house tour for volunteering! Lots of spots left to fill!
Club Picture Day Club Picture Day will take place in Flyers Gym on Thursday, Dec. 5 during Lunch, PAC, and AN. Students should check the Club Picture Day Schedule and must have a pass with their name on it signed by their club sponsor for each club photo.
Standards-Based Learning Task Force Updates On Monday, November 18th, the 8th - 12th grade standards-based learning task force, comprised of teachers, parents, students, and administrators, met for the first time to study how standards-based learning could be applied beyond 7th grade. The meeting’s focus was to build a foundation of why and how the district is currently implementing standards-based learning. Task force members gave feedback on information they need to fully study what’s possible. Information being considered for study includes:
high school models of standards-based learning and grading from other schools
a survey of Lindbergh students and families in grades K-7 who are currently using standards-based learning, and
examples of current Lindbergh High School grading practices
The task force meets again in January, and will meet monthly after that. A final recommendation is expected in May of this school year. Expect opportunities for feedback and updates along the way.

Understanding Social Emotional Learning Survey Results
This fall, students at Lindbergh High School participated in the Panorama SEL survey. The purpose of this screening survey is to provide a big-picture measure of the student experience at Lindbergh Schools and identify individual students who may need additional support.
It is important to note that these surveys provide only a glimpse or snapshot of a student’s response on the day the survey was administered. No data point should ever be used as a sole indicator when determining needs for students. Below, please find the interpretation guides:

St. Louis CAPS Team Wins 8th Annual Gateway Arch National Park Engineering Contest (GANPEC)
On Saturday, November 16 nine (9) student teams from 14+ metro area high schools & programs pitched their engineering solutions to a complex engineering project located on the grounds of Gateway Arch National Park (GANP).
2024 Contest: Engineering a Bridge from the Past to the Future
This Fourth of July will mark the 150th Anniversary of the Eads Bridge. As part of the celebration of James Buchanan Eads and his famed engineering feat, the Gateway Arch National Park Engineering Contest will focus on the bridge that is the north boundary of the park.
This year’s contest required teams to design a pedestrian bridge that linked the park’s north overlook to the Eads Bridge. This will require the high school teams to be very creative, and there will be numerous regulations and protocols to consider, and there will be an aesthetic component as well – the pedestrian bridge should be attractive and match the styles of the park and the 19th century cast-steel bridge.
The McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis hosted the Contest Final Presentations. They were viewed by a judge panel consisting of current & retired engineers, engineering professors, and Gateway Arch National Park officials judged the team’s executive summaries & pitches. They determined the Top 3 teams & allocated $3000.00 in prize funds for the top 3 places.
We are excited to share that our PM Team - Won 1st Place Overall & was awarded a $1500.00 prize.
St. Louis CAPS is proud to be the first area CAPS program to win the GANPEC.
