A Message From Mrs. Acosta
Dear Hart Families,
I hope are Lil Leopards are enjoying their day off as we are quickly approaching the end of the school year. It is hard to believe there are only 10 days left and there are definitely a lot of events happening over the upcoming two weeks. Field Day is a week from today, Friday, May 17th, along with our Art Showcase coinciding with Field Day. This is such a fun day for our students and we truly need your support if you can lend some time to volunteer. Please make sure if you sign up to volunteer you have completed your Volunteer Application online. Listed below and linked is our Field Day Sign Up Genius for the morning and our Field Day Sign Up Genius for the afternoon. For Field Day, please make sure your child comes with pre-applied sunscreen, a labeled water bottle, labeled towel, and if needed, a change of clothes. We will have water activities in some of the zones so students can wear a bathing suit that will stay on underneath their clothes, and if they prefer water shoes and/or crocs in "sports mode."
A special thank you to Ms. Bua and the Hart PTO for all the wonderful treats throughout the week for Teacher Appreciation. An additional thank you goes out to the Lauten Family for providing our teachers with a lunch earlier in the week, and to all our families who spoiled their teachers in their own way. We truly have such a wonderful and caring school community that I am honored to be a part of each and everyday.
Our 1st grade mothers were showered with some early Mother's Day love yesterday with our Mother's Day Tea. It was fabulous seeing the smiles on the kids faces as they celebrated their moms. To all our mothers out there I wish you a wonderful Mother's Day weekend and Mother's Day. I hope you are spoiled and showered with lots of extra love.
Have a wonderful weekend and we will see everyone back on Monday morning.
💗 Mrs. Acosta

Visiting Hart Elementary
In a continued effort to support our safety and security posture at the front entrance doors at each campus, all visitors are required to show ID prior to entering our facilities. The front office staff member will continue to ask each visitor what their intended business is at the campus, and visitors will present their ID to the camera intercom system prior to entry. Once the visitor ID is verified, the front office staff member will then allow entry. Note: Visitors should keep their ID in hand, as they will have to use it to sign into Raptor upon entry.
Attendance Update
Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).
Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences. This information can be found below:
Volunteer Background Check
We love volunteers at HES, but in order to volunteer or go on a field trip, then you must have an updated Volunteer Background check for the current school year. Please complete your background check now!
A Note from Nurse Tami
There have been increasing cases of a stomach bug at Hart. Please do not send your child to school if she/he is vomiting, has diarrhea, or has a fever. Your child must be symptom-free for 24 hours without medication before they can return to school.
End of Year (MEDICATIONS) - Please make sure your child has exactly enough medication to finish the school year. We cannot send any medications home with students (including over the counter). A parent or guardian must pick up the medication from the clinic.
Any medications not picked up by the last day of school will be discarded. Medications CANNOT be stored during the summer months. If your child will continue to need medications during the 2024-2025 school year, you will need to have a new medication form (and action plan if needed) completed for the fall.

Lovejoy Visual Arts
The Lovejoy Visual Art program is excited to announce the opening of the 16th annual LJVA AP Studio Art Exhibition on May 18th from 5 - 9! We cannot wait to share this wonderfully diverse and thoughtful collection of work with our community. The range of approaches, processes, and creativity behind these 16 artists' work is a beautiful testament to the legacy of Lovejoy Visual Arts. Please join us Saturday, May 18th from 5 - 9 pm to honor these artists and their work while gaining insight into their personal investigation and ideation. At the exhibition, you have the opportunity to meet the artists, hear about their work and process, and purchase available artwork. We are also excited to invite you to participate in our yearly charity auction of original work. This year our auction will be benefiting the Vogel Alcove, a non-profit organization on a mission to help young children overcome the lasting and devastating effects of homelessness. The Lovejoy Visual Art program strongly believes in using our gifts to give back to our larger community and would love for you to join us in this yearly tradition.
