We have been busy this summer with various projects across the District. Here are a few: Resurfacing of the Ozark Junior High track; a new accessible playground at Tiger Paw; additional lighting and new roofing at Ozark Middle School; additional sidewalks in front of Ozark Middle School as well as North, East and West elementary schools; painting and new flex areas at the high school; new flooring at South and East — the list could go on and on. Thanks to our maintenance, grounds and custodial department for their hard work.

School safety is always a top priority at Ozark. Over the summer, six additional surveillance cameras were added to Ozark Junior High, access control for secure entry was added at District Office as well as updated throughout the District. Thank you to our technology department for these safety upgrades.

Stop Walk Talk is Ozark Junior High's and Middle School's approach to conflict resolution between students or for a bystander to intervene in a conflict. These signs will be posted around the schools with names of adults students can talk to, and the counseling staff will provide mini-lessons on it during the first weeks of each quarter.

Bus numbers can be viewed in Parent Portal under "Student Details" (be sure to check for each student) and bus routes are posted on the District website. Buses will be running mock routes on Wednesday, Aug. 15. This is a good practice run to see what time you should expect the bus to arrive at your house.

School supply lists are updated on our website and can be found on the Ozark School District app.

Children from families that earn below a certain income level can receive free or reduced price lunch and breakfast at school. The Free and Reduced Price Meal application lets the District know if your child is eligible for free or reduced price school meals.

Applications are also used to match funding the District receives for resources for students, such as books and classroom furniture.

Parent Portal is open to fill out back to school forms. Schedules and teacher assignments are also available. Bus numbers can be viewed under "student details."

At this time, the mobile Parent Portal app (called Student 360) cannot be used to fill out back to school information forms or register a new student. Computers are available at each building.

Youth Football is gearing up for second- through fifth-graders.

Equipment check-out will be at high school football field concession area behind the press box on Sunday, Aug. 19 at the following times:

• 4:00-4:30: 6th grade
  
• 4:30-5:00: 5th grade
  
• 5:00-5:30: 4th grade
  
• 5:30-6:00: 3rd grade
