The calendar for the 2025-2026 School Year
Please note that beginning in the 2025-26 school year, Northwest Community Schools will transition from a trimester schedule to a semester schedule. This change is being made to enhance academic continuity and improve financial efficiency while maintaining the integrity of all of our programs.

The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) has opened the nomination window for the 2026–2027 Michigan Teacher of the Year.
Nominations are encouraged from students, parents, colleagues, and members of the school community. To nominate an outstanding teacher for this honor, please complete the online nomination form, available now through Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

NORTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL GUIDANCE ANNOUNCES NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT DATES
Parents of NEW STUDENTS (new to the district) needing to register for fall enrollment should call the high school office at 517-817-4820 to schedule an appointment starting Monday, August 4, 2025. Online enrollment paperwork is available at www.nwschools.org then click on Enrollment at the top of the page. Make sure to complete steps #3 and #4. Enrollment packets are available in the main office for those who do not have computer access. Appointments are required for registering your new student. Please call to set up an appointment whether you do an online application or a paper enrollment packet.
Counselors will only be on duty to register new students on:
Monday, August 11, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
STATE LAW PROHIBITS A STUDENT FROM ENROLLING WITHOUT PROOF OF ALL IMMUNIZATIONS, A CERTIFIED BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND PROOF OF RESIDENCY. We also require the student’s transcript from the previous school (unless entering into the 9th grade for the first time). If your student receives special education services, we will also need a copy of their IEP.
*If you currently have students enrolled and will be leaving the Northwest school district before school resumes, please call the above number to make us aware that your student(s) will not be returning. Thank you!

Soccer Kids Camp 2025!
Despite the hot weather last week, Northwest HS Boys & Girls Soccer teams hosted an amazing youth camp! 90 Kids attended!! Go Mounties!!
Jackson NW Clay Crushers
The Clay Crushers spent the last 3 days competing at the State level in trap, skeet and sporting clays.
Berkley Brousseau brought home high overall rookie winning all 3 disciplines. He also brought home 3rd place team in skeet and sporting on his own and the rookie trap squad of Berkley Brousseau, Natalie Rude, Luke Shinski, Tyler Adiska and Adam Adiska took 1st place squad. Berkley made the All State team in all disciplines and Natalie in trap as well.
Trent Nurkka took individual 1st place Skeet in the Intermediate Entry Division, the intermediate entry squad of Trent Nurkka, Brody Walllenwine and Mason Rude took 3rd on skeet and the Intermediate Entry trap squad took 1st place: Trent Nurkka, Mason Rude, Blake Dalton, Brody Walllenwine and Lincoln Cyphers.
Our Trap team took 1st place club team thanks to the top 5 scores from Remington Munson, Preston Scott. Roman Bliss, Katie Marshall and JC Madison.
