PTO SPOTLIGHT:
GIFT CARD DRIVE:
Every year we spoil our staff for an ENTIRE WEEK in May! Staff Appreciation week is the most fun for everyone as we set up snacks, drinks, and serve a mobile coffee cart! The most beloved part is that every staff member is gifted a random gift card. How is that possible you ask? It's because of our generous families! At this time, the PTO Staff Appreciation Committee will start collecting gift cards for distribution in May. You can send in gift cards that are long forgotten about in your drawer, or you can purchase new ones as well. Either way, we welcome all dollar amounts to any store or restaurant! From $5 to $100, we're thrilled to receive them all. Simply place your donated gift cards in an envelope marked "PTO Gift Card Drive" and send it into school with your child, and we'll take care of the rest!
PS We know our committee would not be successful without the support from our parents and families! A big thank you to everyone that continues to support us so that we can show appreciation to all 68 staff members!!! We are grateful for you and your generosity!
Sincerely,
Kristin Poske and Kim Racine

Helping Children Find their Voice
Coach your inquisitive activist on how to find answers. This may be a trip to the library, a Google search or a call to knowledgeable community members. Help them gather information and then flip the Q&A around on them. Ask them questions such as: What do you think the answer is? Are there any other possible answers? Did you find anyone who disagrees with you? How did you make up your mind?
The goal is for them realize that “why?” or “how?” can have many answers, and that the one handed to you is not always the right one.

SEL WEEK 29 (Mar. 31-Apr. 3)
This week served as a make-up week for SEL lessons.
Prairie Dash 5K
Join us at the Prairie Dash 5k on May 17th!
Students and families from across all Hamilton Southeastern Schools are invited to join us for the 2025 Prairie Dash 5k fun run on Saturday, May 17th at 9:00 am. The run will take place throughout the historic grounds of Conner Prairie, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Hamilton Southeastern Education Foundation.
Registration is $25 per person and includes a race tee, timing bib, commemorative medal, plus a free ticket to see the new Fishers Freight football team this summer. Students and family members can register as individual runners or sign up to run as a part of their School Team. Open to all ages!

**We will not be organizing a FCE team, however we’d love for our FCE runners to sign up under FCE and that we’ll try to gather as a group on race day.
HSE Spring Food Drive
Food Drive April 21-25
HSE is holding a food drive for Fishers Youth Initiative Summer Meals program. They will distribute over 60,000 meals to some of our HSE families that need help with food this summer. We are asking for donations so they can provide these meals. The items they are asking for are: Chef Boyardee cans, Pop Tarts, Macaroni and Cheese Box, Peanut Butter, Chicken Noodle Soup, Ramen, Canned Fruit and Jelly in a plastic container. We will have large bins here at FCE during this time for students to drop off donations. Thank you for supporting this program!
Attendance Info
FCE March attendance average was 96%...our goal as a school is to achieve a 97% building average for attendance by the end of the school year. Help us reach this goal!
Kindergarten Enrollment Now Open!
R.A.V.E. Reviews!
Do you know of an HSE staff member who deserves a shoutout? Someone who consistently goes above and beyond to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Give them a R.A.V.E. Review and share your appreciation! It’s simple to do - just complete a quick online form here: hseschools.org/rave. You can send as many reviews as you’d like throughout the school year.
R.A.V.E. stands for Recognizing All Valuable Employees, and it’s our way of celebrating the incredible staff who make Hamilton Southeastern Schools a fantastic place to learn and grow.
Parent Volunteers & Safe Visitor Background Checks
If you are planning to visit or volunteer at FCE this year during school hours, you will need a Safe Visitor Background Check. There will be several opportunities for parent volunteers here at FCE, including FIELD TRIPS, FIELD DAY, etc. In order to volunteer at a school event during school hours (or attend a PTO meeting during school hours), you must have a current SafeVisitor background check on file. In order to obtain your Safe Visitor pass, please click on the link below and follow the directions. Please keep in mind it sometimes takes a few weeks to process, so be sure you give yourself plenty of time!
