Grades 1 & 2 Excited to learn!

The first and second graders are off to an amazing start to the school year! They are working hard to learn our classroom routines and expectations. They are participating in a mini-unit on apples, learning math, doing reading and Fundations, and journal writing. We are looking forward to a very productive year!

3rd Grade Fun!!!

We are off to a great start in 3rd grade! Students completed their first Socratic seminar in ELA and are working on ordering larger numbers in math.

TITLE l INFORMATION and UPDATES

My name is Sandy McGuirk and I have been a Title 1 teacher for 20+ years in the district.

Title I is federal money allocated to districts to provide supplementary educational support to students. That word “supplementary” is key: instruction by Title I-funded staff members must be in addition to core instruction from the classroom teacher.

Title 1 is a program that provides reading and math enrichment to students. The students practice strategies and skills being taught in the classroom.
