Lenski Weekly Update

Welcome to October! The mornings are crisp and the afternoons are warm!

Did you know that our Building Facilitator, Mark Fisher, is also a Bee Keeper? He presented to our Kindergarten students this morning!

We launched our new booster this week called Walktober! Students are encouraged to walk respectfully in the hallways to earn class points. The top grade level will get to take Rex, our LPS therapy dog, on a walk. Our students are very excited at this possible opportunity.

Thank you to everyone who purchased something from the bookfair! We raised enough money to buy 110 books for our library!

Friendly reminder, when you drop off your student in the morning at the valet line, please ensure that it is a quick drop off and that you or the driver remains in the car. We have had a lot of people hold up the line because they have gotten out of the car. If someone new is dropping your student off in the morning, please let them know to stay in the car. Thank you!

Next week is Classified Staff Appreciation Week! We often think of teachers first when we think of education, sometimes overlooking the hundreds of staff necessary for LPS to provide a thriving learning environment. Please help us recognize our outstanding classified staff next week by sending notes or other small items of thanks to our amazing staff.

It is that time of year again when LPS uses anonymous surveys to gather information about the school environments, health and wellness. Students in grades 3 to 12 are given time in school to complete the survey but there is no penalty for choosing not to participate. Survey data is used by LPS and Lenski to improve programs and resources that meet students’ current needs and support an inclusive and safe environment. Parents can opt their students out of the survey by submitting an opt-out form to our Front Office by November 1, 2024. Here is the link: Opt out - English and Opt out - Spanish.

Recess Parent Pals

If you are interested in volunteering to help during lunch recesses, we would love to have you! Check in as usual at the kiosk. Then, come into the front office to receive your yellow vest. You may come up with your own game, or click here to preview games with videos. We’ll also have a binder with additional ideas in the office to choose from.
