Magyar's Message June 5, 2024
-From The Desk of the Superintendent-
Dear ALCS Families,
We did it! Happy Last day of School!
What a journey it has been! We've laughed, learned, and have grown together! I'm so proud of everything we accomplished. I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and staff. Thank you to all of our families for your support and encouragement.
We hope you have enjoyed this year's journey with us and are looking forward to the summer break. Remember to stay curious, be kind to one another, and never stop exploring your passions.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024! As you stand on the threshold of a new chapter, I want to remind you that you have all it takes to achieve great things. You've made it through high school, and that's no small feat. You've navigated the ups and downs, the triumphs and the setbacks, and you've come out stronger because of it. Now, as you embark on this new adventure, remember that you are capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes your way. Believe in yourselves, support each other, and never give up on your dreams. You've got this, and I know that you'll make the most of every opportunity that comes your way. You will always have a home here in Avon Lake.
Mother Nature may have other plans for our Commencement ceremony this Friday (June 7). We are closely reviewing the weather forecast and will make a decision by Friday morning if we are going to move forward with the ceremony that evening. If Commencement is moved to Saturday, it will take place at either 10 a.m., 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. depending on the weather that day. Should it be necessary to have the ceremony on Saturday, a Robo call will be sent Saturday morning with the time of the graduation ceremony. If Mother Nature continues to bring rain and the event is moved to Sunday, it will take place at 1 p.m. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We closed out the Spring Sports season with another State Champion! Congratulations to Claire Springer for her First Place finish in the shot put for Division I.
While this is the final Superintendent’s Message for the school year, I plan to continue communicating bi-weekly throughout the summer break to keep all of you informed on what’s happening throughout the district. I also look forward to seeing you at our upcoming Coffee Talks. Please bring your friends and neighbors. If anyone would like to host a coffee talk at your home starting next school year, please contact my office to schedule 440-933-6210.
Thank you for being an important part of our school community, and we look forward to seeing you all again in the fall!
Thank you for your continued support of our schools. Have a safe and happy summer!
Sincerely,
Joelle Magyar
