January Champions of the Charter
January's Champions of the Charter were recently chosen by the staff at Central School. This month, these students went above and beyond to practice and help others to feel POSITIVE, SAFE, RESPECTED, and CALM here at Central School. The champions will be recognized at the board meeting on February 18th. We are very proud of the great example they set for their fellow students. Congratulations to: Marty C., Addyson, C., Mia D., Ana F., Ryder H., Maddison J., Griffin N., Elsa O., Addison P., Olivia P., Raegan R., Nico S., and Marlena V.
January Perfect Attendance
In January, we had 150 students that had perfect attendance! Students will have a sticker added to their perfect attendance badge on their locker, and are highlighted on a school bulletin board. Students that receive perfect attendance each month will be entered into a drawing for prizes, and will be able to help their class earn class rewards. Having great attendance is very beneficial to the success of our students. Congratulations to all of our students with perfect attendance!
Spelling Bee
On January 9th, 21 of our 6th grade students competed in the spelling bee held at Central School. It took 14 rounds for us to crown our winner, Ethan F. and our runner up Sam S.! Congratulations to the following students that participated: Grace R., Westin M., Olivia M., Dane H., Spencer B., Audry R., Jayce R., Nolan R., Brianna B., Kyleigh P., Maliah D., Liam W., Aleena B., Noah M., Cameron T., Ethan F., Sam S., Milly H., Nora A., Jake J., and Ainsley R.
What's Happening in Mrs. Jordon's Class?
In science, our students are currently in zSpace learning habitats. Students got the chance to first learn about different habitats and why certain animals can only survive in certain ones. Students then got a chance to make a habitat diorama on zSpace. Here they would pick different living things that they would find in that specific habitat.
In math, we are working on integers. Students are learning about positive and negative numbers and their opposites. We are also learning how we use positive and negative numbers in our everyday lives.
Lastly, we are having some fun talking about and preparing for the super bowl by coloring helmets for which team we want to win!
