Thank you so much for your attendance at our annual "Donuts With Grown Ups" event this past Friday. Shout out to our PTO for creating the best version of this event yet! Your extremely generous book donations for our teachers and library are so appreciated. THANK YOU! See a picture below of all the books donated to our library!
The Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Mobile Lab will be visiting Hillendale this week to welcome each homeroom for a hands on science lesson. Each homeroom will have an opportunity to visit the lab at some point during the week. I encourage you to ask your child about their experience! There are very limited spots left to volunteer. If you are interested, see the PTO sign-up in the Ag Lab section below.
1st - 5th graders will have a unique opportunity to plant a pawpaw tree on our Woodland Trail on Monday, Indigenous Peoples Day. Please dress your children for the weather on Monday. Have them wear shoes that they can take a short trail walk in (and get a little muddy!).
As a reminder, picture day is this Thursday, 10/17.

Thank you to our students and parents for a fun and successful book fair! Students were excited to shop the fair and get some new books.
Because of the generosity of our community, we were able to donate over $3,000 worth of books to the library and teacher classrooms.
With money raised through our poster raffle and parents rounding up their purchases at Donuts With Grownups, we were also able to donate books to SILO in Oxford.
The Husky Hustle has a new format this year. This year the event will be held during the day on November 4th. All students will participate at no cost, and parents and guests are welcome to attend to watch and cheer on their Huskies!

🐾Volunteer During Library Class
Are you interested in helping during your child's 1st-5th grade library class? Library volunteers will help our Librarian check-in books as the children drop them off, put them back on the shelves, help kids to select books, and finally to check-out the new books.
We are doing a trial run of our new sign-up system from October 7th until Winter Break. Please review the expectations for volunteering before signing up.

🐾Volunteer with the Agriculture Traveling Lab
This year during the week of October 14th, we have the great opportunity to host the Agriculture Traveling Lab. This is a hands-on scientific method exploration for all grade levels. We would love some parent volunteers for the week! The Ag Lab asks for one AM parent volunteer and one PM parent volunteer for each day.
