Downtown Franklin Park will be a "Hollywood" film set

On August 21 and 22, the TV Series Chicago Fire, will be filming in downtown Franklin Park, and may have crew and equipment set up anytime between August 14-28. Filming may impact traffic, bus and walking routes, especially on Franklin and Calwagner.

Leyden welcomes new teachers

Leyden welcomes 23 new teachers for the 2024-25 school year! These new teachers have degrees from all over Illinois, Connecticut, Florida, Wisconsin and Vermont.

Open house will take place on August 20

On Tuesday, August 20, starting at 6:30 p.m., parents are invited to the schools to meet and greet your student's teachers, view a parent presentation and experience your child's schedule. We hope to see you there Eagle families!

Leyden has teamed up with MySchoolBucks, an online payment service where you can easily and securely pay for school meals and student fees and fines using a credit/debit card or electronic check.

Leyden hosts cheer clinic for K-8th graders

The Leyden cheerleading team is hosting a Little Eagle Cheer Clinic for kids in grades kindergarten through 8th grade, on Friday, September 6.

Illinois Coaches Association announces Softball Coach of the Year

Congratulations to Leyden softball coach Kurt Schuett, on being named Illinois Coaches Association (ICA) Softball Coach of the Year. This outstanding honor was voted upon by his peers. This accomplishment will be celebrated this winter at the annual ICA Softball Banquet. Way to go coach!

One Leyden bus has a new look

In celebration of Leyden’s 100th anniversary, one of our buses received a makeover! The LeydenPride bus officially hit the road on July 31, when our Special Olympics Golf team headed to Regionals. The team was excited that they were the first Eagles to ride inside Leyden's new ride!

Leyden INCubatoredu alumni recognized

Leyden’s INCubatoredu alumni have been recognized for their work with Uncharted Learning this summer. Our very own, Dominik Skornyko, was recognized for his videography, producing and entrepreneurship. He and other Leyden alumni talk about the Incubator program and their mentors.
