I'm excited to offer our new Coffee Conversations series for school parents and guardians. This world has changed so much since we were kids - the internet, smart phones, streaming services, school safety, COVID, and so much more. How do we know how to nurture our children and help them reach their full potential? How do we help them grow to be happy, self-sufficient, thoughtful, kind, and confident adults? What do we need as parents and educators to feel supported in that mission? It's a lot to think about! We'll start off the conversation this coming week with a chat about mental health, facilitated by our Archdiocese of Oklahoma City Catholic Charities Director of Counseling, Amy Shipman. We will offer a few more opportunities to attend Coffee Conversations this Fall and Winter, and will be sending out a survey to find out which topics interest you most as a parent or guardian.

Also, if you came to the pet blessing this afternoon, watch KOCO 5 at 10pm!

We want to help equip parents and guardians with information about raising kids in this day and age. Sign up to attend any of our short, facilitated discussions in the coming months. Our first Coffee Conversation is this coming Wednesday, Oct. 9.

On our Coffee Conversation days, drop off students, then park in north lot. Feel free to come on in to Ross Hall for coffee and socializing, or take some time for Adoration (on Wednesdays) until our program starts at 8:05am. We should wrap up around 8:45am.

Middle school electives are already underway, and Enrichment Clusters for 2nd-5th grade will be starting soon! We would love to have your help, so please fill out info at the volunteer form link and return by Tuesday, October 9th. Mrs. Goldsworthy will send out detailed letter over the weekend. If you have questions, email Miss Tener. Enrichment Clusters will meet on Wednesday afternoons late October through late January/early February.

Eagle Basketball Clinic - Starting October 16th, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4pm to 5:30pm there will be a preseason basketball training clinic opportunity. Wednesday will be 4th & 5th grade. Fridays will be 6th - 8th. It's a preseason clinic so there is no fee to participate. Please fill out the clinic sign up form if your player wants to attend.

Students in 4th-12th grade are invited to enter the OK Dept. of Libraries "My Favorite Book" writing contest! Students select a fiction or nonfiction book, book series, essay, or short story that they have read and about which they have strong feelings. Students write a personal letter to the author of their selected book or short story explaining how the work changed the student’s view of themselves or their world.

Competition is divided into 3 levels:
Level I: grades 4-6; Level II: grades 7-8; Level III: grades 9-12.

First-place winners receive $500; second-place winners receive $250; and third-place winners receive $100. The winners will be honored at the My Favorite Book Awards ceremony in May 2025 at the State Capitol. See FAQs.

She is having back surgery on Monday and we would like to pray for a speedy and full recovery. | Please pray for Coach K's niece, Saylor, as she continues to fight through a rare muscle disorder. May her treatments be successful. | Please pray for Coach K's dad who is battling cancer, and approaching the end of his chemo treatments. May his body be healed. | Please pray for quick healing following shoulder surgery for Deacon Tom, grandfather to Samuel and Henry Goldsworthy.
