Everything Is Possible
NF Earns Highest State Ranking
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce released its annual state report card this past Friday. The report cards are primarily based on assessments, school attendance, 'closing the reading gap,' and other educational data. For the third consecutive year since the state moved to a 'star-rating system,' Northfield Elementary School earned the highest score possible...5 stars out of 5 stars. CONGRATULATIONS! This impressive accomplishment shows what we collectively already know...Northfield Elementary School is a leader in providing a solid education in an environment that is engaging, safe, and supportive. The hard work, dedication, loyalty, and involvement of students, staff, and parents is appreciated beyond words. Prior to the 'star system,' the state used a letter grading system. During that pre-Covid era, NF consecutively earned A's, too.
Run 4 Fun Set to Start
Last Friday, your child(ren) should have brought home an 8.5 x 11 envelope with information for our largest fundraiser, Run 4 Fun. The actual event is scheduled for Friday, September 27th and the PTA will be sending out parent volunteer requests very soon. The goal of the PTA-sponsored event is $20,000. The monies earned will be combined with a portion of last year's earnings for playground improvements, including enlargement of the play area and some new equipment that the students will select via voting.
September is Attendance Awareness Month
The state of Ohio has set this month as Attendance Awareness Month. As part of many programs and activities focused on the importance of attending school daily, the Cleveland Browns organization has provided our school with many give-aways and promos to support this message. Soon, we will be completing random drawings for a few weeks, recognizing students who have terrific attendance. Check below for a photo of our first set of winners!
