School fee information for the 2024-2025 school year is now posted on the PowerSchool Parent Portal. All fees are due within 30 days of being posted. To access your fee information, simply log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and go to “Student Fees.” There you can view your fees and pay them online.
Don’t forget to also log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal regularly throughout the year. Fees are often added to your child’s account to cover the cost of various school activities such as field trips, class projects, extracurricular activities fees and more.
If circumstances exist where you’re unable to pay your fees, you can apply to have certain fees waived by submitting an application for fee waiver, found at www.eips.ca/schools/fees/waiver-of-fees. The application deadline is Dec. 16, 2024.

Thank you for your support!
More information will be shared in the coming weeks if you would like to volunteer to help with the Book Fair.

World Mental Health Day
The overall objective of World Mental Health Day on October 10 is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
Mental Health Literacy (MHL) is the knowledge and understanding that helps us become responsible, effective and successful in living full and healthy lives. With good mental health literacy we learn how to take better care of ourselves, our loved ones and our communities. We are empowered and provided with the skills that we need to help us build better lives, better systems of care and a better society.
Grade 6 Immunizations
AHS Public Health Nurses will be coming to Woodbridge Elementary School on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 to provide the first set of immunizations to the Grade 6 students. For your child to be immunized in the school, a consent must be signed by a legal guardian.
For tips on preparing your child for immunizations, please refer to https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/assets/info/hp/cdc/if-hp-cdc-ipsm-tips-make-imm-easier-child.pdf
If your child is not present on the round dates they may receive immunizations on other dates throughout the school year.
Any questions or concerns please call our School Nurse, Deborah at 780-342-4689.
Halloween Costumes
We have many students with wonderful, creative ideas about what costumes to wear. What is important to remember, though, is costumes that portray stereotypes about a specific group, culture or race can be hurtful. While we are confident our students would not intentionally try to offend their classmates or teachers, we need to be sensitive to the fact that having one’s background or identity depicted as a costume can be viewed as disrespectful.
Elk Island Public Schools is committed to providing a welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning and working environments. It is important that celebrations being held at our schools can be enjoyed by everyone - please help us ensure Halloween is fun for all our students! If you have any questions about whether a costume would be appropriate, please contact the school.
We are looking forward to a Spooktacular day!
