Grade 8 High School Signing Day
Kenmoor Middle School is excited to announce our 8th Grade High School T-Shirt Signing Day on June 10th! This special event celebrates our 8th graders as they prepare to transition to high school.
Students will have the opportunity to sign each other's t-shirts, creating lasting memories and commemorating their time at Kenmoor Middle School.
We look forward to celebrating our students' achievements and cheering them on as they embark on this new journey.
End of Year Chromebook Collection
Please note that ALL of the Chromebook devices will be collected at the end of this school year. By collecting and storing devices over the summer, PGCPS will be able to:
1. Better protect devices from loss and damage for SY24-25
2. Better repair and reconcile inventory from SY23-24
3. Better transition from Take-home programs to School-based programs for SY24-25
This year and going forward, all elementary and middle school students will need to return their PGCPS Chromebooks before the end of the school year for summer inventory review, cleaning, and repair. This process requires the collection of Chromebooks and, in some cases, iPADs, from students, as well as the secure storage of devices over the summer. The collection involves physical retrieval of student devices and the electronic un-assigning of devices from the Asset Management System (AMS).
Students who are unable to locate their Chromebook or who return a damaged device should be assessed damage/lost fees, expected to be paid prior to the last day of school.
In order to collect all devices, schools will begin the collection process as early as May 28th and no later than June 3rd.
NOTE: Summer school sites will issue loaner devices for students in summer school programs. ALL student devices must be collected and unassigned prior to summer in order to accommodate this procedure.
For more details on the cost of damaged and missing devices, click the Student Device User Agreement link below.
Summer Reading Initiative
Prevent “Summer Slide”--READ!
Prince George’s County Memorial Library System and the Washington Nationals are teaming up to present “Summer Prince George’s” (SPG), an interactive program for all ages that runs from May 20 through August 15. This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library!”
Summer Prince George's encourages children, teens, and adults to read 30 minutes each day, attend library programs, explore the physical collection of materials as well as a wide range of streaming movies and music in the 85+ online library resources, and participate in interactive social media challenges.
Remember, all PGCPS students have library accounts through LINK, using their 9-digit Student ID number!
Research shows that the average student lost 17-34% of the prior year’s learning gains over summer break…but the good news is that it only takes 30 minutes per day to prevent learning loss over the summer.
For more information, ask your school librarian Mrs. Hoskey. So, join the adventure– let’s keep our brains active this summer and READ!

Please visit https://pgcpsmdc.scriborder.com/ select Transitional Enrollment and upload updated proof of residence.
Letters have been sent home with more details and instructions for completing this time sensitive task. The letters are also attached here for your convenience.
If you have questions, please contact the school at 301-925-2300 and speak with the registrar, Mr. William Branch.
Cell Phone Policy
Students are expected to comply with our district's cell phone policy, AP 5132! At Kenmoor, we have implemented the following protocol:
- Students are reminded daily during morning announcements to power off and store away all cell phone devices. They can store them in a backpack or locker.
- If a student has their device visible, it will be confiscated by an administrator and it will be returned to the student at the end of the school day.
- If the student fails to comply with the cell phone policy and continues to have their cell phone visible, it will be confiscated and a parent or guardian will be required to pick it up from the school.
- If a student continues to disregard the cell phone policy, they will be required to check in their phone with their Administrator in the mornings and check out their phone at the end of each school day.
Mindful Moment
Enjoy
