Attendance During Phase 1
- K-5 Phase 1 Remote Learning Attendance/ Engagement Procedure
In the blended/ in-person environment (AA/C/BB) attendance will be taken by the classroom teacher daily. While remote, if a student is unable to participate synchronously once a day, the student/ guardian will need to check-in with their classroom teacher via e-mail, messenger, phone, etc. During a student’s remote learning days, if the student’s classroom teacher does not receive a “check-in” by 9:00 pm, the student will be marked absent for the day. After 10 absences, a meeting will be held with student’s parent/guardians and building principal to determine student’s educational placement.
- K-5 Digital Learning Attendance/ Engagement Procedure
Attendance will be taken by the digital learning teacher once daily, with the expectation that students check-in synchronously a minimum of two times daily. If a student is unable to participate synchronously once a day, the student/ guardian will need to check-in with their Digital Learning teacher via e-mail, messenger, phone, etc. If the student’s Digital Learning teacher does not receive a “check-in” by 9:00 pm, the student will be marked absent for the day. After 10 absences, a meeting will be held with student’s parent/guardians and building principal to determine student’s educational placement.

QPR Training
Lewis and Clark County is working with the Awareness Network to create a community of parents who are smart about mental health and suicide prevention.
Through their partnership, the organizations are offering free training to parents in the county and rewarding them with $5 gift cards for participating.
The most popular course, which is held twice a month, is Question-Persuade-Refer (QPR).
This training is intended for people from all walks of life, QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) is a two-hour course designed to teach “gatekeepers” warning signs of a suicidal crisis and how to help. Gatekeepers can include parents, friends, neighbors, siblings, co-workers, supervisors, teachers, coaches, caseworkers, police officers, and firefighters, among many others. The process follows three steps: (1) Question if a person is considering suicide, (2) Persuade them to seek and accept help, and (3) Refer the person to appropriate resources.
Together, we can prevent suicide.
Register for upcoming QPR and other free courses for adults at https://lcsuicideprevention.org/parents/
