WALKING WITH CHRIST
This Lent, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis will join together to reflect on the Scriptural Stations of the Cross that were celebrated by St. John Paul II. Through 14 Podcasts, the listener will have an opportunity to practice the three pillars of Lent – Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. Each reflection will be led by priests from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. The Walking with Christ Podcasts will air in English, Spanish, as well as in American Sign Language on YouTube.
New “Walking With Christ” podcasts will be uploaded every Tuesday and Thursday of Lent, and can be found by searching for “Walking With Christ” on the Apple Podcast app and Spotify app, or by following the link to SoundCloud at https://soundcloud.com/walkingwithchrist. Additional Lenten resources, as well as recordings of the podcasts, can be found at: https://www.archindy.org/lent/podcast.html

During Lent, Holy Name Parish and School will participate in CRS Rice Bowl, a faith-in-action program that invites us to reflect on the challenges of global hunger and our responsibility to respond to the needs of our global human family.
We will be reminded through the Gospel story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 that if we commit to sharing what we have with those in need, trusting in God's abundance, there is more than enough to feed everyone. Through our Lenten prayers, fasting and almsgiving, we can respond to the call to ensure that all our brothers and sisters are fed good, nutritious food that gives them what they need to fulfill their God-given potential.
During this holy season, it is important to come together as a family and reflect on the cross of hunger and lack of proper nutrition, that so many of our brothers and sisters both near and far are forced to carry. In so doing, we pledge to stand alongside these members of our human family, supporting them as the Gospel calls us to do. When you give to CRS Rice Bowl, 75% of your donations support CRS' humanitarian relief programs in nearly 100 countries worldwide. The remaining 25% of your donations go to hunger and poverty alleviation efforts here within the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
Please consider these suggestions in your family's Lenten plan:
- Use your CRS Rice Bowl and Lenten Calendar daily to guide your prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
- Read the Stories of Hope and daily reflections to inspire your Lenten journey- and guide your Lenten almsgiving.
- Prepare simple, meatless meals on the Fridays of Lent to eat in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world.
- Visit crsricebowl.org to watch videos of the people and communities you support through your Lenten gifts to CRS Rice Bowl.
We will Collect your CRS Rice Bowls at the end of Lent, so stay tuned to learn more.
Thank you for participating in CRS Rice Bowl with your family.
Sincerely,
Holy Name Catholic School
24 Hour Adoration- Thursdays during Lent
Prepare yourself this Lenten Season by spending an hour with Jesus in Adoration! We are extending Adoration for 24 hours from 9am on Thursdays to 8am on Fridays for the six Thursdays of Lent (February 18 & 25, March 4, 11, 18, & 25). We are requesting adorers to commit to one hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Specifically, we are needing adorers during the overnight hours from midnight-8:00am preferably for all six nights, but not required, and would like two adorers per hour. Please contact Lynn Blackwell (Lblack260@comcast.net) including your name, email, cell number, and preferred hour of prayer. If you need an explanation of Eucharistic Adoration or what you do at Adoration, check out this website www.omvusa.org. Please prayerfully consider spending an hour with Jesus.

Indiana's Tax Credit Scholarship
Indiana's Tax Credit Scholarship program was created in 2009 as a way to give families who meet income guidelines an opportunity to send their child to a participating private school. Through the generosity of Hoosiers, private donations are given as scholarships so students may attend a private school that may not have been an option to them otherwise.
The Institute for Quality Education (IQE) is the largest of six state-approved scholarship granting organizations (SGOs) in Indiana. Since the beginning of this program, SGOs have awarded over $45 million dollars in scholarships to more than 35,000 Hoosier students in partnership with more than 300 private schools statewide.
Without these important Tax Credit Scholarships, we have several families that would be unable to choose Holy Name for their children's education. This year we were blessed with the ability to award over $23,000 in scholarships to our Holy Name students. This is impossible without generous donors like you!
Individuals or businesses that donate to the SGO receive tax credits equal to 50% of the amount donated. Donate before the end of 2020 to receive this credit!
