A New School Year Begins
Welcome Back! A Year of Commitment to Equity and Inclusion
Dear Educators, Students, and Community Members,
As we embark on a new school year, the School of Education, one of the most comprehensive educator preparation programs among county offices in the state, is excited to share our continued commitment to fostering equity, inclusion, and justice within our educational community. Education is a powerful tool for change, and we are dedicated to ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, has the support and opportunities they need to succeed.
As the Executive Director, I am humbled to lead a dynamic team with a proven record of success! Our Center for Teacher Preparation is proudly launching the new programs listed below and awaiting feedback on the Bilingual Added Authorization Credential.
This year, we are thrilled to introduce several key initiatives that embody our commitment to these values:
New PK-3 Credential Program: We are proud to launch our PK-3 Credential Program, designed to equip educators with the skills and knowledge to support our youngest learners. This program emphasizes developmentally appropriate practices and culturally responsive pedagogy, ensuring that all children have a strong, equitable start in their educational journey.
Expanded Multiple Subject Program: Our newly expanded Multiple Subject Program has been redesigned with a focus on equity and inclusivity, preparing future educators to meet the diverse needs of students in today’s classrooms. The program incorporates the latest research on effective teaching strategies, with an emphasis on serving underrepresented and underserved communities.
The Center for Teacher Innovation, the of the largest induction programs in the state, serves teachers in 18 countries on seven continents and across 12 states in the USA. They hold a phenomenal record of success retaining 93% of teachers after five years while the national rate of retention is 70%.
Our Center for Administrator Preparation continues to thrive, touting some of the top scores on the California Administrator Performance Assessment (CalAPA) even when compared to such prestigious universities in California! Additionally, we are proud that CAP earned the prestigious DELPI grant as noted below.
Grant to Diversify the Educational Leadership Pipeline: The Center for Administrator Preparation is proud to launch the DELPI grant. RCOE has received $1,020,000 in funding from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. We are proud to partner with the Coachella Valley, Hemet Unified, San Jacinto Unified, Val Verde Unified, San Bernardino City Unified, Victor Valley Union HS, UCLA, CALSA, and the Coalition for Educational Partnerships (CEP).
These programs are a testament to our ongoing efforts to address disparities in education and to create a more just and equitable system for all. But our work doesn’t stop here. We recognize that equity is a continuous journey, and we are committed to ongoing dialogue, action, and reflection to dismantle systemic barriers within education.
As we move forward into this academic year, let us be guided by our shared values of respect, empathy, and justice. We invite you to join us in this critical work, and we look forward to a year of meaningful learning, growth, and progress.
Thank you for your dedication to our mission, and for your commitment to the success of every student.
With warm regards,
Dr. Ursula Estrada-Reveles
A Proud Milestone for the School of Education

We are thrilled to announce that on June 6th, Dr. Diana Campos, Andrea Mazo, Melanie Oliver, and Dr. Ursula Estrada-Reveles received approval for the PK-3 ECE and Multiple Subject Credential Programs from the Committee on Accreditation!
This great accomplishment would not have been possible without the remarkable dedication, collaboration, and hard work of our School of Education team. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us throughout this journey. Thank you for being part of this incredible achievement!

Connecting with the School of Education
It's BINGO time with the School of Education
Just wanted to give a quick shoutout to Jaymie Baiza for her awesome "Connection before Content" approach in our School of Education unit meeting! The Bingo idea was not only fun and interactive, but it showcased her amazing creativity. It was such a great way to get to know each other better and unite us before diving into the important work ahead.
