West Oxford Owl
September 20, 2024
West Oxford kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month with a spirit week this week. Our staff have several other big events planned including Title I Night on October 8th from 4:00-6:00. Students will perform, staff will present about academics, and we will have tacos! We want you to join us, and feel free to stay for PTO that evening at 6:00.
We hosted our first All Pro Dad's breakfast last Tuesday and had a great time with all of the fathers who came out. We learned about Constitution Day and had popsicles to celebrate our growth. Teachers are digging into the data from the assessments in order to identify how best to support your students.
PTO will host bingo night on September 27th from 6:00-8:00. Come join us!
Fifth grade is attending the Careers on Wheels event on Thursday to learn about a wide array of interesting career options.
Our first PBIS event is a movie and popcorn event on October 4th. Students need 100 dojo points to attend. We will have a school dance at 3:30 that afternoon. K-2nd grade will dance in the cafeteria and 3rd-5th will be in the gym. The dance will cost $5 to attend.
The weather is changing. We know that students wear jackets in the morning when it is cool, but many jackets are abandoned as they warm up throughout the day. Please put your child's name in the jacket so we can help them get home at the end of the day.
Please make sure that you are reading with your child for 20 minutes each night. Happy reading!
