Clyde Erwin Elementary School
Dr. Patterson's Weekly Update
October 6, 2019
Happy Sunday Eagles!
Welcome back to the second quarter of the year at CEEMS! We are very excited to begin our second quarter, and it was great to see students back on Friday. We have several important events coming up soon.
Little Caesars Fundraiser
We are beginning a Little Caesars fundraiser for our school on Monday, October 7. Money raised through this fundraiser will help us purchase more digital devices for students in kindergarten and first grade. If each student sells 5 pizza kits, we will meet our goal. Students will be rewarded for participation. Information for this fundraiser will be sent home with students on Monday.
Lockdown Drill
Students will practice a lockdown drill on Friday, October 11. The lockdown drill allows us an opportunity to practice our processes and procedures during the event of an unwanted visitor on our campus. Teachers will teach students processes and procedures this week, and the official drill will be on Friday afternoon.
Open House and Report Card Pick-Up
Please plan to attend Open House and Report Card Pick-Up on Thursday, October 10, 5:00-6:00pm. Report cards will be available for pick-up, and you are welcome to visit classrooms and have brief meetings with teachers. Teachers contacted all parents during first quarter for conferences. If you have not conferenced with your child's teacher, we encourage you to attend report card pick-up on Thursday or call to schedule a conference as soon as possible.
Make-up Days
We have one additional make-up day due to time missed during Hurricane Dorian. Students will also attend school on Friday, January 3, 2020, which was a teacher workday and is now a student day. Please make adjustments to your calendars.
Free and Reduced Meals
If you are interested in applying for free and reduced meals for the 2019-2020 school year, please get the application submitted ASAP.
