WSD FOCUS Update
Signing Students In/Out
(Very Important Information for Parents- Please Read)
With the update to the Focus software, the way you will sign your student in and out at the office has changed. We are no longer using the touch screen at the front desk. This has been replaced with a scanner kiosk that parents must now use for signing students in and out.
To use the scanner, you must access the barcode of your student located within the Focus app. There are instructions attached on how to access the barcode. Barcodes are not accessible on the Focus website, only the app. If you do not have the barcode when you are signing a student in or out, you must know your student's ID# and enter it manually. Please take the time to screenshot your barcode(s) for easy access when in the office, or write down student numbers in an easy to locate place. Your help in being prepared with this information will allow for a more quick and efficient check-in/out process.
District Emails
If you're not receiving emails from WSD staff or schools, they might be landing in your spam folder. Learn more on how to fix that. You'll want to make sure you familiarize yourself with the district email domain: All district emails are delivered from: noreply@sis.wsdr4.org.
Here are a few training videos you may find helpful as well.

Student Support Team Tips!
5 Tips for Combating the Sunday Scaries this October
We all at some point experience stress about the upcoming week, even our youngsters. Here are some things to try to help ease some of that stress:
Build in some down time (when you can) Sunday evening to connect as a family. Even just playing a game, reading a book, or telling jokes while running errands together.
- Talk with your kiddos about what they are worried for and excited about for the week. Make a plan for the worries (what can you control, what does your worry need to hear) and celebrate the excitement.
- Use Positive Affirmations: find something positive to tell your child, make it as specific as possible & have your child list positive things about themselves to help boost their confidence.
- Notice any worried feelings; place your hand on your heart, take a deep breath, and know that you can handle this.
- Remind your child that feelings are temporary and they have your support to help guide them through any emotions they may be experiencing!
i-Ready Results Available
i-Ready is an integral part of our curriculum for reading and mathematics. It enables your student's teacher(s) to identify their specific needs, personalize their learning, and track their progress throughout the school year. By meeting your student exactly where they are, i-Ready empowers your teacher(s) to enhance your student's learning gains. How to access my students' results.
Community Partnerships
Dear Lakeview Elementary Families,
Throughout the duration of the academic year, the Wentzville School District partners with community agencies that specialize in providing students, families, and educators with preventative education. Agency presenters are credentialed, coordinated through the District, and under the supervision of building administrators. Presentation topics are targeted toward specific grade levels. All students will participate in each program unless you choose to opt your child out of the lesson(s). If you are interested in opting your student(s) out of the presentation(s), please click the appropriate link(s) below.
If you have additional questions, please reach out directly to your student’s school counselor.
Thank you,
Your Lakeview Team

The Cost of an Absence
A day of missed school is a lost opportunity for social development. By coming to school every day they are not sick, your child is gaining social skills that will land them their first job as an adult.
- Time Management
- Collaboration
- Problem Solving
Thinking about missing another day? Research shows that improving attendance by just 5 days a year leads to higher achievement in:
- Reading
- Writing
- Math
We want to prepare your child for a successful future by making sure they are in school when they are not sick.

Wear It Wednesday
Wear it Wednesday!
Every Wednesday at Lakeview is a House Spirit Day, which we call WEAR IT WEDNESDAY! If your child wears a shirt reflecting their house color, they get one house point. We recognize not all families or students have official house shirts, and we want to recognize students who rock their house colors. As a reminder the colors are:
Altruismo - Black
Amistad - Red
Isibindi - Green
Reveur - Blue
If your child comes to school in a house shirt OR wearing a shirt of their color, they earn a point for their house.
