DeSales Family Reading Night & Science Fair

PARP Door Decorating Contest Winner
The student voters turned out for Family Reading Night and cast their votes for their favorite classroom door. The votes were tallied and we are happy to share that Mrs. Robinson's Class is the winner of the PARP door decorating contest. Each classroom choose a country to represent during PARP Olympics, Mrs. Robinson's 2nd grade class represented the USA! Congratulations!

Mystery Reader Monday
PreK through Grade 4 will be enjoying Mystery Reader during DeSales Pick A Reading Partner (PARP) program. We invite any family member to come and read to the class.
Follow this link to sign up for the available times and dates for each teacher.
If you would like to be a mystery reader, please look for the teacher whose class you would like to read to and enter your name in the slot for the date and time that you prefer. Please bring a book that you would like to read to the class on the day of your visit and be sure to sign in at the main office when you arrive. Remember, it’s a surprise, so don’t tell your child that you or a family member are going to be the mystery reader! Thank you for participating in PARP!
PARP Olympics
The Pick a Reading Partner (PARP) Program program encourages adults to spend time reading with their child. PARP at DeSales will run through Friday May 3, 2024.
The theme for this year’s program is Olympics!
Below you will find links to a reading log for your child. At the end of the month please turn in your child’s reading log. Prizes will be given for each child that completes a reading log. If we have 90 percent participation, Mrs. Rahill will read a story to students from the roof!

Country Colors Day: Friday, May 3:
Each classroom will be representing a different country in the Olympics! Your teachers will tell you what colors to dress in as well as it will be in the parent connection!
Me & My Guy Dance

Cost: $30.00 per family
Girls in preschool through Grade 8 are invited to attend with their favorite 'Guy.' Will you bring your Dad? Your Grandpa? Your favorite Uncle? Girls are welcome to bring any male role model as their 'Guy.' Whomever you bring, we can't wait for you to join us for a night of dancing, music, photo booth fun, refreshments, light appetizers & basket raffle! Invitations were mailed today! We kindly ask that you also remind your child's Grandparents & Special Senior Friends of the date and time.
Generation Celebration Days are regular, full school days for students.
There are parking (including handicap spots) in the upper parking lot for guests that have difficulty with stairs. They can enter through the door in this upper area and will be asked to sign in.
Finding Nemo, Jr. Cast Party
Mrs. Davis is throwing a viewing party for the cast of Finding Nemo JR.
Where: DeSales Music Room
When: April 30th from 3-4pm
Who: Finding Nemo JR. Cast
Pizza and snacks will be provided. Pick up will be the same routine as leaving a practice, down in the cafeteria loop.
Mrs. Davis will be handing out permission slips to the students. Please have your kids return them to the music office at school as soon as possible. Students without signed permission slips will not be allowed to stay.
Please contact Mrs. Davis with any questions or if you are a cast member parent who can help with the party.

As the school-year winds down, we extend a huge thank you to our current HSA Officers; Amy Scapelliti, Meg Rankie, Kim Lockie and Katie Webster for their service to the DeSales HSA. As they finish their term, we are in search of new HSA Officers for the 2024-2025 school-year.
