ACS Board of School Trustees announce new Eastview Pre-K Center

Anderson wraps up NCC title behind all-star candidate’s big night
Damien King scored 20 of his game-high 32 points in the first half to lead three Indians in double figures as Anderson clinched the outright North Central Conference title with an 84-69 win over Kokomo on Phil Buck Court. The 4A sixth-ranked Indians improved to 20-2 overall and completed a perfect 5-0 conference schedule...more.
Renteria earns full tuition scholarship to Marian University
Anderson High School senior Alexandra (Alex) Renteria was named a recipient of the Indiana Latino Institute's full tuition scholarship to attend Marian University in Indianapolis! This scholarship is worth $160,000 and is one of only two awarded in the state of Indiana. Alex was joined by representatives from Marian University, members of her family, and school representatives in a surprise announcement at the school. Alex has a 3.9 GPA and is planning to study Elementary Education in the fall.

AIS Student Council visits ACS Board of Trustees meeting
Executive officers from the Anderson Intermediate School Student Council visited the Anderson Community Schools Board of Trustees public meeting earlier this month. They got to sit with board members for the first part of the meeting. Thank you to Ms. Burgess, Ms. McNeese, and our principals at AIS Mr. Peters and Ms. Chapman for attending the meeting and for supporting the Student Council at AIS.
Shane Arnold selected to lead AHS Football Program
At the February ACS Board of Trustees meeting the board approved the hiring of Mr. Shane Arnold as the new Head Football Coach at Anderson High School. He has over 30 years of coaching experience and most recently served as the Head Football Coach at Tri-Central High School. Coach Arnold is pictured above with his family.
AHS places 3rd in regional Rube Goldberg Machine Contest
Last weekend Anderson High School placed 3rd at the regional Rube Goldberg Machine Contest in Batesville, Indiana! They created a 30 step machine that would "Feed a Pet." The team qualified for the world contest that will take place March 29th at Purdue University. The team was also recognized as the "Most Rube Goldbergian Style" machine. Team members are: Ashley Jeronimo, Andrew Smith, Allison Rios, Jazmine Morgan, Leyda Garcia Martinez, Kenton Pierce, Clayton Campbell, Michelle Kunle-Ogunnaike, and Malakieh Mickle. They are coached by Mr. Perrel.
AHS Singers honored at the Homestead Classic Showcase
Last Saturday the Anderson Singers Unlimited AHS show choir won Best Crew, Best Show Design, and Natalee German was named the best female soloist in a show at the Homestead Classic Showcase. Singers made the finals and placed 1st Runner-up!
E2 students participate in East Central Indiana Science Fair
Eastside Elementary (E2) students Brecken Billin, Keeley McFadden, and Dallas Weiger participated in the East Central Indiana Science Fair last weekend. Brecken placed second in Material Science, Keeley placed third in Material Science, and Dallas placed second in Behavioral Science. Way to go!
D26 instructors visit students at Anderson Intermediate School
Sixth grade students at Anderson Intermediate School (AIS) got to learn about several career pathways last week! Instructors from the Anderson/District 26 Career Center visited AIS in between their AM and PM session to talk about their programs with students. Mr. Salinas with the Indiana National Guard provided lunch for our instructors.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! New student enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is right around the corner! We will be enrolling new Kindergarten students on April 9th and new Preschool students on April 22nd. More details about enrollment and registration at ACS can be found here.
