How to register for classes at PCC
If you are planning to attend Portland Community College this fall you must complete several tasks to register for classes. You can find the PCC Next Steps on the PCC Home Page.

6/15 AmericanMuscle's Student Scholarship $2,500
700-1500 word essay on who you are and how you plan on using your automotive education to incite positive change and innovation within the custom car industry.
6/25 Breakthrough Junior Challenge $250,000
An inventive video to discuss a complex science theory, concept or principle. Must be under 18 years of age prior to October 1st when application is submitted.
6/30 College Board Big Future Scholarship. 40,000
Complete steps to assist in college decision process for entries into a drawing. There are various deadlines for different tasks. Tasks include completing FAFSA, identifying colleges, taking SAT, etc.
6/30 Islamic Society of North American Scholarships
Muslim students actively engaged in the community who are US citizens or permanent residents
7/12 Bank Mobile Financial Empowerment Scholarship $1,500
Offered to a student who is blazing a trail and shaking things up in the world of financial empowerment.
7/31 City Property Management HOA Scholarship. $1,000
Interested in pursing a career in real estate. Scroll down on website to find application link.
7/31 Design Thinking Scholarship Essay $1,000
American Graphics Institute offers multiple scholarships to encourage the use of design and creative thinking across various disciplines and fields. Two due dates Dec 31 and July 31
8/1 Oregon Tribal Student Grant
Eligible students must have proof of membership in an Oregon tribe for use at an Oregon college. Award will be calculated based on the school’s average Cost of Attendance (COA) for 15 credit hours per term.
8/1 Nurses Make a Difference $1,000
The winning applicant will provide the best essay on the new annual essay topic (not released yet/found on website). Must be a legal US citizen and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
8/1 Portland State University - 4 Years Free
Pays for tuition for four years for Portland State University. Awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. Must be an Oregon resident, Pell Grant eligible, and enrolled to PSU at least part-time (6 credit minimum).
8/31 Summit Physical Therapy Scholarship $500
Scholarship for student enrolled in any concentration of study. Essay describing at least three ways Physical Therapy can make a difference in an individual's ability to live an active, healthy lifestyle.
8/31 Clubs of America Scholarship Essay $1,000
Essay of no fewer than 600 words about your career aspirations and how your current studies will help you achieve success in your career. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? Thinking outside the box is encouraged!
No Deadline. Alert Magazine Essay on Alcohol. $500
650-800 word essay about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with drug and/or alcohol abuse.
No Deadline. Raise Me.Com Micro scholarships for specific schools
Get small amounts for grades, activities, college visits and more. Funds can be used at various colleges including Western Oregon, Corban University, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University and Evergreen State College.

Transitioning the College? Consider the OSAC Summer Bridge Program
Making the transition from high school to college can be challenging, and after you graduate high school, you may have questions or need help. That's what Summer Bridge is all about.
Summer Bridge is a free support program offered by the Oregon Student Access and Completion dept (OSAC.) Students can sign up for a newsletter or request a meeting with an OSAC staff member to get help with questions they may have or even get help finishing a FAFSA or ORSAA. PPS STEAM Summer Camp Student Guides | $15/h | $1,740 for 4 weeks Maxx
Calling all Portland-based students and summer camp-enthusiasts! SAM Labs is looking for talented, enthusiastic, creative and energetic high schoolers who can help instructors facilitate four weeks of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math)and Coding summer camp throughout July. No coding or technical skills are required but an interest in STEM or Computer Science is preferred. The required hours are from 12:30pm-5:30pm per day. Click HERE To Apply
They are seeking student guides to support a lead teacher across four, week-long STEAM and Coding camps that run from July 1st - August 1st with the 4th & 5th of July off. All of the lessons and resources required for instruction for the days of programming. From unplugged activities to design challenges, you will have the opportunity to facilitate some of the most engaging and fun STEAM and coding activities with a classroom of K-2 or 3-5 students at one of our PPS school sites each week. . You will therefore be working a total of 5 hours per day across the 4 weeks of programming.

Safety Town Volunteers Needed - Be a Summer Counselor
Safety Town Tualatin is a 1 week, half-day camp for rising kindergarteners and first graders that teaches basic safety lessons. Safety Town uses guest presentations, songs, dance, crafts, and hands-on experiences to teach students basic safe practices with fire, pedestrian, bikes, traffic, buses, water, poison, and emergency preparedness. Safety Town will be overseen and administered by Tualatin Together and will employ middle and high school students from our community to serve as counselors and junior counselors. Internship/job at Positive Behavior Supports Corporation (Team PBS!)
This is a home and community provider of Applied Behavior Analysis services and are hiring for entry level behavior technician roles which may be of interest to students who are close to graduation and 18 years old! The behavior technician role is ideal for students who are interested in social science fields (such as psychology, behavior analysis, special education, social science, etc). Specific training is provided to get started in the ABA field and schedules can be flexible. Opportunities are also available to obtain certification as a Registered Behavior Technician with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, which is a national certification that aids in both resume and professional development. Starting pay for this position is $25/hr.

St Vincent's Hospital
St. Vincent's Hospital is searching for student volunteers at 3 locations (2 in Portland, Oregon City and Milwaukie) Students can work in the medical centers as greeters/wayfinders, gift shop attendants, checking in patients, supporting nurses stations, administrative work, and serving patients in rooms for students if over age 18.
There is a 4-hour commitment for 6 months or 100 hours per year (whichever comes first).
Students must be at least 16 years of age.
This is NOT a job shadow opportunity.
