24 - 25 Parent Newsletter - Issue #35
Dear Golden Bear Families,
This past week at TVHS was one to remember! From the excitement of CIF playoffs and the joyful debut of Seussical The Musical, to the energy of our College and Career Fair and the collaboration of Teacher Learning Walks, our campus was full of life and learning. We even had sheep grazing our hillside — a unique and eco-friendly sight! The week wrapped up with the Crystal Apple Awards on Sunday night, where we celebrated some of the amazing educators who help make our school so special.
May is always filled with celebrations and moments of reflection, and I felt that deeply this past week. On Principal’s Day, I was overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity from our ASB students, staff, and families. The flowers, treats, gifts, and heartfelt messages truly meant the world to me. I’m so grateful to be part of this incredible community — thank you for reminding me why I love what I do at TVHS.
A huge thank-you as well to all of our parents and our amazing PTSA for the incredible effort you’re putting into making Staff Appreciation Week so special. Your thoughtful gestures, time, and generosity mean so much as we celebrate our hardworking teachers and staff. We are truly fortunate to have a community that values and supports the people who give so much to our students each and every day.
We still have several important weeks left in the semester, and now more than ever, attendance and arriving on time to school are key to finishing strong. I know our seniors can see the finish line ahead, but it’s essential they stay focused — completing their classes and meeting expectations so they can fully participate in and enjoy all the special senior activities. Now is the time to partner with teachers, check on grades and missing assignments, and ask for help if it’s needed. Don’t wait until the end — every day counts.
Looking ahead, this week brings even more to look forward to: AP Testing begins, Seussical The Musical continues its run, we have our Band Concert, NHS Induction Ceremony, Sports, and our final Golden Bear Saturday of the year.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Let’s keep working together to make these last weeks of the school year meaningful, successful, and memorable for all. Go Bears!

TEMECULA, CA — Temecula Mayor Brenden Kalfus is a busy guy, but he's never too busy to capture a moment. This week, when asked if he would throw out the first pitch at the Temecula Valley High School vs. Great Oak High School cross-town rivalry game, he did not balk.
"I haven't been back here in years," he told Patch in an interview behind home plate. "I graduated in 2009, I played all years at TVHS baseball, two on Varsity, it's awesome to be back."
Kalfus arrived with his wife Mia and their five children to show them a bit of their old stomping grounds, both graduates of TVHS.

🍲 Empty Bowls: Lifting others up, one bowl at a time! 🍞
This video, produced by TVHS CTE Media Arts student Luna Meyers, captures the spirit of Empty Bowls—a community charity event where guests enjoy a simple meal of soup and bread, served in handcrafted bowls made by TVHS and CHS ceramics students. A $15 donation not only supports Mission Hope but allows each person to take home one of these unique bowls as a lasting reminder of those who face hunger every day.
🎥 Watch, share, and help spread awareness. Together, we can fill empty bowls.

🐑 Bringing Life to the Land: Sheep on the Hillside! 🧑🌾
A huge thank you to Megan Manion, our Regenerative Agriculture teacher, for leading an exciting new partnership that brought sheep to our school hillside! 🐏
In collaboration with local shepherd Brandon from @the99kooimanfarm, we introduced grazing animals to help enrich the soil for our 12-species cover crop—a big step toward boosting soil health and increasing biodiversity. 🌿
This marks our first time integrating animals into our landscape, and it's already leaving the hillside teeming with biology! 👨🌾🌼
👏 Shoutout to our amazing Reg Ag students who prepared the hill for this project—your hands-on work is helping our land thrive!
