School Is Up And Running!
Morning Program has started!
We are excited to have held our first two Morning Program assemblies in September. Some students had a chance to receive their student of the month awards. All students were able to learn about Stephen Covey's Habit Number One, Be Proactive!
As we continue to hold Morning Program assemblies please keep in mind these things:
1. We meet on most Fridays, changing every other week between our youngest students UPK-K-1 and then our oldest leader students, grades 2-3.
2. All visitors to district events will sign in using T-Pass. Please have your license ready to scan when you arrive. Also be prepared for a short wait outside as our kids use the same lobby area to enter during the school day.
3. Guests can sit on the outside loop of the cafeteria. Teachers and students will sit on the inside loop. We will dismiss all guests after our kids have left the cafeteria and are heading back to class.
Other October Announcements
Halloween Spirit Days
As we zoom through the month of October, Halloween will be fast approaching. As some of you may have already heard, this year we are making some changes with our Halloween celebrations. Instead of having costumes and a parade during school hours, we will enjoy that tradition at the Fall Festival on Friday, October 25th. I understand this change may be upsetting to some students and parents as the traditional school day parade is a long-standing tradition, one I remember participating in as a teacher. However, it has been determined that these changes are necessary so more parents can take part in this celebration without having to miss worktime and so we can maintain order and safety while the students are at school. Please don't worry about the lack of fun kids will have at school that week, there will be plenty of opportunities for fun. First, we will have a couple Halloween spirit days on October 30th, 31st and November 1st. We will also have classroom parties and special Halloween stations. I appreciate your patience and understanding about this change as change is not always easy. I strongly believe the students will still have a fun and amazing Halloween week.
PTS
Please join us at the Trunk-or-Treat Fall Festival sponsored by our PTS. We are trying to gage interest of those wanting to participate so we can best plan this evening of fun for our kids. Please Complete the form and return it to NTH by Friday, October 18th.
From the Health Office
1. Please make sure physical exam forms are turned into the health office or contact the nurse with your child's appointment date.
2. As "illness" season is upon us, parents often ask, "when should I keep my child home"? You should keep your child home if he/she has a fever of greater than 100.4 or has vomited or had diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
3. Cooler weather is quickly approaching. Please make sure your child/children have coats, hats and gloves as needed for recess and bus pick up and drop off.
Bus Safety
Drivers from our transportation department brought a school bus to NTH to teach our students some important bus safety tips. Students practiced safe crossing, how to sit properly in their seats and how to safety exit and enter a bus. It is always our goal to be safe at school!
School Picture Day!
School picture day will be held at NTH on Thursday, October 24th. Be sure to pack your best and brightest smile!
