Happy Thanksgiving
There will be No School November 25-29, 2024, for Thanksgiving Break.
As we reflect during this season of gratitude, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to you, our families, for all the support you provide for our staff and students. Your contributions make a significant difference in our community, and we wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.
IGED
New Mark had the opportunity to take these girls to attend the Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day at UMKC, where they each worked with an engineer in a field that they showed interest in. They listened to guest speakers and participated in creative engineering activities.

Exciting Times Ahead for the Class of 2029!
The Class of 2029 is about to take an exciting step into the future. At Staley High School, your high school experience will be unlike any other. For the past four years, students across our district have been immersed in the innovative College & Career Pathways program, which provides students with unique opportunities to explore their strengths and align their interests with leading industries.
Through College & Career Pathways, Staley students will connect what they learn in the classroom to real-world applications in business and industry. Incoming freshmen will choose an industry sector that aligns with their interests and passions, becoming part of a “school within our school.” Over the next four years, these industry-themed academies—Business, Leadership & Entrepreneurship (BLE), Design, lnnovation & Technology (DIT), Health Sciences & Services (HSS), and Public Service & Communications (PSC)—will foster a close-knit community of students and teachers working together toward shared goals.
All Staley students will gain hands-on, real-world experience through work-based learning opportunities such as guest speakers, mentorships, and internships with our industry partners. By the time your Falcon graduates in May 2029, they will leave Staley not only with a high school diploma but with valuable career skills and a competitive edge in the job market, ready to pursue success beyond high school.
To learn more about how College & Career Pathways will shape your child's high school experience, we invite you to attend one of our Parent Information Sessions on Wednesday, December 4th or Wednesday, January 15th at Staley’s Special Events Center (SEC), from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. These sessions are designed for all families of incoming freshmen and will provide detailed information about our pathways. If you're unable to attend in person, we will provide this information in a recorded presentation prior to your student choosing a pathway.
At Staley High School, we are committed to helping our students thrive both academically and personally. We are excited to welcome your child into our Falcon family and look forward to helping them chart their path toward success. We encourage you to discuss these exciting opportunities with your family, and we can't wait to officially welcome your Falcon to Staley next fall!
Sincerely,
Dr. Larry Smith
Principal, Staley High School
REPEAT: Distinguished Achievement Program
The Distinguished Achievement (DAP) is an opportunity for 7th and 8th grade students to be recognized for going above and beyond basic expectations both in and out of school. Students must meet 5 out of 9 performance standards in order to receive the award. Participation in the DAP program is voluntary and those who complete requirements will be recognized during a celebration in the Spring.
Students were introduced to the DAP program last month during Connection. Those who are interested will be invited to the DAP Canvas Course soon. Any student who is still interested in DAP can stop by the counseling office to scan the QR code to indicate their intent to participate. Students have until March 20th to complete requirements. Students and parents who have questions about DAP are welcome to contact the counselors.
