MESSAGE FROM DR. PAPA
November was a busy, yet exiciting month here at Arthur Stanlick. The month began with our Parent/Teacher conferences. Thank you to our teachers for doing an outstanding job of communicating with our families about their child's performance inside and out of the classroom. On Monday, November 11th we celebrated Veterans Day by honoring 25 veterans of our Armed Forces. Our students sang songs, made thank you signs, and gave each veteran a carnation. Following the assemblies, we hosted a breakfast for each veteran and their family member. Some of our classes were fortunate to have a veteran visit with them to share their experiences from serving our country. As we practiced gratitude in the month of November, our entire school participated in our annual food drive. I want to thank our Girl Scout Troop 97973 for leading our 5th Annual Food Drive. As a school we collected over 700 items of food for our local food pantry. On Wednesday, November 27th our Second Grade staff welcomed their students Grandparents to share breakfast together.
As we look forward to December, I want to draw your attention to our 4th Grade Winter Concert on Monday, December 9th at 9:30AM and our 5th Grade Winter Concert on Monday, December 16th at 6PM. Additionally, please visit our TREP$ Marketplace at Jefferson Township Middle School on Wednesday, December 4th at 6:30PM. Our fifth grade students are working hard on their business models and are prepared for a successful night of entrepreneurship. Thank you for your continued support of our school community!
I hope you have an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday.
Dr. Papa

CLASSROOM HIGHLIGHTS
Every month we will highlight one grade level, one specialist, and one special education classroom to showcase the great things happening here at Arthur Stanlick inside of our classrooms.
THIRD GRADE HIGHLIGHTS
SPOTLIGHT CLASSROOM: MRS. SHIRHALL
Happy November! This month has been full of learning and fun! The students have been working on writing personal narratives, expressing gratitude, summarizing, and comparison multiplication, among other things. They’ve settled into the school routine and are growing every day. It’s been wonderful to see them working hard and encouraging each other along the way! I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
SPECIALIST FOCUS: MISS NIMMO - PHYSICAL EDUCATION
- We have had a very exciting start to our school year in Physical Education. Our first and second grade friends have been working hard on locomotive skills, throwing & catching, and learning how to traverse the rock wall. We have been focusing on rules and routines in the gymnasium and how to follow the 3 B’s of Stanlick school, even when we’re in the gym. During the week of Thanksgiving, we let our creative sides shine through and used PE equipment to build a turkey. We saw some amazing creations, while working on cooperative learning and teamwork. In third through fifth grade we jumped right into our fall sports unit. Students were excited to get the chance to show off their soccer and football skills over the last few months. We have worked on throwing, catching, kicking, receiving, offense, defense, and of course Sportsmanship! This is all culminating with one of Miss Nimmo’s favorite games of the year, handball. We rounded out November with handball mini games and full court games. After break we will begin our new unit of volleyball!
GRANDPARENTS DAY
Our Second Grade teachers are amazing! They hosted a successful Grandparents Day on Wednesday, November 27th. It was so inspiring to see our students sharing breakfast with their Grandparents; sharing a special moment together.
