Highlights of the Week
Our Cross Country team had a busy week this week. On Thursday, the team was at Burma Hills and on Friday they competed in the CARA run at Big Valley. The team has had a great season. Mrs. Norman has been impressed with their team spirit, determination and sportmanship! Way to go, Eagles!
Our volleyball teams were both in action at home against Christ King on Wednesday. Both teams were able to pull out a victory, but what impressed me the most was how our teams are imrpoving each week as they are working more ane more together as a team.
I want to take the opportunity to mention that we are hosting the 1st Annual Terry Fox Run at Donalda School this Thursday. Families are welcome to join our school at 2:30 pm on the soccer field. It is our goal to raise $500 for Cancer Research, and to do our part to keep the Marathon of Hope Alive. Following the Terry Fox Run activities, we will be having an Open House till 4:30 pm, where students can give their parents a tour of the school and also give them an opportunity to meet their teachers. We hope to see many parents there!

Donalda School Awards Night - Thursday, October 24th
I want to make everyone aware of changes that are going to be made to this year's awards night. In the past we have recognized each student in our school at Awards Night, but with the introduction of Student of the Week it was felt that each student has already been recognized and celebrated.
This year's Awards Night will be new, as it will honor students who are receiving speciality awards. These students will be mailed an invitiation, and will be asked to respond to the school with how many guests they will be bringing. The evening will begin with a dessert night, followed by the awards program.
Note: If there are families that are wanting to finish off their child's plaque , please contact the office and we will have a square engraved to add.

Donalda School is proud to take part in this year's Terry Fox Run Campaign on Thursday, October 10th. Our goal is the raise $500 that will go towards cancer research. We want to invite families and friends to join our staff and students for a terrific afternoon. Watch for more details as the day gets closer. Following the run, the school will be having an open house from (3:15 - 4:30 pm). This is a chance for parents to get a tour of the school and meet staff.
Students of the Week
Micheal Reid
Micheal has shown positive leadership with his peers this month. I’ve noticed multiple times where he has shown positive mentorship in class, and in particular during Phys Ed. I appreciate seeing Micheal take the time to give tips and pointers so that his peers can experience more success. Keep it up, Micheal!
Katrina Siemens
Katrina is a true leader in all aspects of the word! She encourages her peers and younger students in our school, and always leads by example. Countless times I’ve watched Katrina give tips or points on the volleyball court in such a kind and genuine way. She also has an impressive work ethic in the classroom, which has led to her academic success.
Julian Menecola
Julian has worked hard these first few weeks to rise to the higher expectations of Jr. High and I’m proud to see him achieving this! Julian has also been a positive influence on his peers, by helping his peers stay on task and follow instructions during lessons. Keep up the great work, Julian!
Bentley Charles
Bentley has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic in all classes. On each and every assignment/project he asks clarifying questions and takes his time to ensure he is completing his work to the best of his ability. I’ve also seen positive leadership displayed in our class, especially during Phys Ed, where he has taken the time to help other students in developing their skills. Keep up the great work, Bentley!
