Adrian Escatiola was nominated by her counselor, Mrs. Escalera. "I am proud to nominate Adrian Escatiola for Senior of the Week due to his exceptional kindness and respect for others. Adrian consistently demonstrates a caring attitude toward everyone he meets, making our school a more positive and welcoming place. His thoughtful actions and uplifting spirit set him apart as a role model for his peers. He truly deserves this recognition for his outstanding character."

Charlton Kanginan was nominated by his basketball coach, Mr. Villanueva. "Charlton delivered exceptional performances game in and game out so far in the early parts of this season. His efforts played a crucial role in our team's victories. Charlton exhibits remarkable leadership both in practice and during competition. Charlton maintains a strong academic record, showing that he is able to balance the demands of rigorous coursework with his athletic commitments along with his other endeavors. His dedication to both areas of his life speaks to his work ethic and discipline. Charlton stands out as a model student-athlete and truly deserves the honor of being named Student-Athlete of the Week."

Samantha Baker Haas nominated her teacher, Ms. Creus. "Samantha is a big part of the Rowland Raider culture here at Rowland High School. Sam is part of both the Volleyball and Basketball teams. She is known for her amazingly positive attitude and is always looking for ways to help her peers and teachers. Samantha approaches every day with an infectious smile and tenacity, and she is always doing what is right and good. Academically, Samantha is a strong student with a 3.0 overall GPA. Every teacher who comes across Sam and is lucky enough to have her in class sings her praises about the positive impact she has on the classroom environment. Sam is a great example of an effective Thinker, Contributor, and Communicator, and Rowland High School is lucky to have such an individual on campus."

Elaine Tao was nominated by her instrumental teacher, Ms. Chien. "Elaine, the head drum major of the Band, and her leadership throughout last year and this year has been a saving grace for our band. She continues to excel in being a leader and her musicianship. She is an excellent clarinet player, piano player, and conductor. Her work ethic and commitment/dedication to everything that she is a part of is why she is being nominated."

Our Dance Team & Revolution Crew represented Rowland High School over break on Saturday, November 23rd, at the Crypto Arena in the heart of Los Angeles! They performed for over 17,000 fans during 2nd intermission on ice for the L.A. Kings in their NHL game against the Seattle Kraken.

The French Club at Rowland High School delighted students and staff with a cheese-tasting event that celebrated French cuisine and culture. Guests sampled a variety of cheeses, including creamy Brie, nutty Camembert, and soft Boursin paired with crackers and fresh fruits.

The event also featured classic French desserts, such as flaky galettes and buttery palmiers, offering a sweet finale to the tasting experience. Club members shared cultural insights about the foods, making the event delicious and educational.

Proceeds will fund future club activities. The event was a huge success, leaving everyone with a deeper appreciation for French gastronomy.

Seniors can go to the Hideout on Monday, December 9th, during lunch and get cookies, milk, and a picture with Santa. It is free with the purchase of senior attire and $5 without.

Free games and crafts for all students in the quad during lunch on Wednesday, December 11th.

The Wellbeing Center invites students to visit them in the quad to enjoy a relaxing time during lunch.

All week the RHS Elf on the Shelf will be hidden once each day. If it is found, turn it into the ASB office for a price. Each day the hiding place gets harder. Only hidden in community areas, no classrooms.

The canned food drive 2nd period competition finishes on Wednesday Dec. 11. The top homeroom gets a free pizza party. All donations are given to the RUSD canned food event for families in OUR community.
