Good morning, sorry for not getting this out yesterday. First and foremost I want to say a huge thank you to our PTO. The members that coordinated our celebartion last night are Maria Guilbert, Janel Walton, Anne Staat, Chi Kersten, Ellen Pierce, Daisy Alvarado, and Kim Alongi. In addition our district was supported by Dr. Gordon, Jarrod Buxton, Scott Harvey and many others who attended and suported this celebration. Wow! What an amazing job you did. It was so impressive and such a testament, as hundreds of former and current staff, students, and families attended this incredible celebration. Lincoln is such a special place, and the memories and joy I witnessed made my week. THANK YOU!
We also want to thank our PTO and teacher appreciation committee led by Kim Alongi for providing delicious lunches, treats, and student created gifts and flowers to acknowledge the hard work of our staff. This was a wonderful way to spend our week.
Finally yesterday was also our final town hall. Our town hall groups did a shared reading of the book Change Sings by Amanda Gormon. This beautifully illustrated book highlights how we can all make a positive change. We talked about how we all are facing change always, but more specifically our change of schools and the closing of Lincoln. We highlighted the opportrunity to meet new friends, staff and families and how this is a time we can create new relationships. We also talked about how we can count on one another to celebrate and support each other through this change. Each group practiced a dance and then we all came together in the gym and dances together to the song, You Can Count on Me, by Bruno Mars. (Video linked below). This followed by our 95th celebration was a wonderful celebration.
As you see above we are honoring all our volunteers, this includes any family member who joined in reading to a class, room parents supporting our parties and picnics, if you are a WATCH Dog, if you attended our feed my starving children event, if you volunteered in any way this year. Please consider coming to this breakfast.
Finally below is a link for intra-district tranfers which opens up this Wednesday. If you are considering switching your child's attendance next year, please fill out this form. If you have any questions please email us or call, 331-228-2500.
Kane County Cougars ALL School Assembly this Tuesday
Again this year we all participated in OZZIE reading, every student earned a free ticket to attend the Kane County Cougars Game, everyone will go to the baseball game this Tuesday.
A few items to share, each student receives a hot dog and water at the game. Last year many students were hungry, so we are planning to have students eat a substantial snack at 10:15 before we leave, this could also contain a sandwich if you feel your student would need that substantial of a snack, please send your son or daughter with a large snack to eat before we head to the game. It looks like the weather should cooperate with high 50's and cloudy, although make sure you put sun screen on your child before the leave for school. We will leave at 10:30, the game begins at 11:00 we will return to Lincoln at 1:30 and all students will receive a popsicle from our PTO. This day is a great way to celebrate our readers and enjoy a fun day together.

Lincoln Reminders
Pick up and drop off procedures
The car line on the north side of the building is for drop off, please do not park your car and get out. If you feel like your child needs assistance getting out of their car seat or you need to get out during the process please park your car in the library lot and you can walk them over to the door.
When picking up for an appointment early
If your son or daughter needs to leave school mid-day for an appointment, please understand that we will not call your child down to the office until you are here. Time in school is very limited and every moment counts, once you are here we will call them and promptly have them come down to leave with you, but we do not want to call ahead because often they are missing valuable instruction waiting for the pick up due to unforeseen circumstances. Thank you for understanding.
