What a great week! It warmed my heart today to see all of the students enjoying their first day of our Cub Clubs. There was definitely a lot of excitement in the air. I hope you all enjoy your fall break, and we will see you back at school on Wednesday, October 15th.

“Dudes on Duty” is an opportunity for any “dude” in a student’s life to get involved in our school. Dads, grandfathers, uncles, spiritual leaders, mentors, coaches, etc. can sign up to volunteer at Cibolo Creek and positively impact our campus community. Any male role model is invited to serve!

Volunteer opportunities will be available on Mondays and Fridays starting Friday, October 18th.

OPTION 1 - 7:00-8:00

• Welcome students at the door with your child(ren)

• Appear on the KCUB Morning News with your child(ren)

• Participate in your child’s morning meeting in class

OPTION 2 - 10:50-1:00

• Assist during all campus lunches and enjoy mealtime with your child(ren)

OPTION 3 - 7:30-12:30

• Appear on KCUB Morning News with your child(ren)

• Participate in your child’s morning meeting in class

• Assist with campus door checks

The activities below are examples of what may be included in your schedule. Activities will vary based on campus needs.

• Assist with PE, Art, Music, or Technology

• Assist in the library

• Assist during recess

• Assist with lunch duty

• Read to students

We're excited to announce that Herff Elementary & Cibolo Creek Elementary Schools' PTOS are teaming up for a spooktacular Trunk or Treat evening event on October 25th! Between our 2 schools, we are looking for 40 Trunks to participate! Please sign up if you, your business, or your team would like to participate as a Trunk and pass out your own candy or other giveaways. Each month, starting with September, we choose one student from each class to be our Cubs of the Month. September and October will be based on our first nine-weeks Great 8 Skill of Personal Responsibility. Our Cubs of the Month names for September will be announced on KCUB News Monday morning. Cubs will receive their certificate at the end of the nine weeks.

We are gearing up for our next Coffee with the Counselor event on Tuesday, November 12th. This time we will have a morning session and an afternoon session. Please see the flyer in the newsletter for times, and for the QR code to RSVP. We will be talking about Social Media and our Kids, as well as excerpts from the book “The Anxious Generation”. As always, I will open it up at the end to answer any questions you have for me.
