As we prepare for Catholic Education Sunday and Week (October 19–25, 2024), let’s come together to embrace this year's theme, "Testify! Share the Reason for Your Hope." This is a wonderful opportunity for us to reflect on how we can inspire and uplift each other in our schools and communities.

Positive change starts in our homes, schools, and parishes. By focusing on our own growth and aligning our actions with God’s will, we can create a lasting impact in our culture.

Attachment is a common topic when it comes to parenting. Attachment is your child’s ability to connect and feel safe with you as their “secure base”. All children have the same fundamental needs for love, safety, belonging, independence, self-expression, playfulness, and appropriate boundaries, and they continue to look for those from you as they grow up. Building an emotional connection with your child to help foster secure attachments is important at any age. Children with secure attachments are able to be independent, confident, express emotions, trust others, and be trusting. Life is busy. We are all busy. Sometimes our rational brain gets in the way of our emotional brain, and we focus on the to-do’s rather than the “to-say’s”. We wanted to share these phrases from Big Life Journal to share some words your child would enjoy hearing from any caregiver in their life.

St. Émile Catholic Women’s League

The St. Émile Catholic Women’s League will be starting our fall

session with our first meeting on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00

at the rectory. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Beautiful Thanksgiving Liturgy led by Ms. Doehring and her Division 2 Religion Students. Special thanks to the St. Émile Parish CWL for presenting the grade 4 Religion students their Bible. We are so grateful and blessed!

If you plan on volunteering for any in school or out of school field trips this school year, please be sure to get your paperwork completed in time to volunteer.

The volunteer forms are located on the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

We will also have a Schoolwide Halloween parade at 10 am.

The Board of Trustees is reviewing its ward boundaries to ensure fair and effective representation for all communities in our Division. This review helps maintain equitable representation for over 90,000 residents in the three wards of St. Albert, Morinville, and Legal.

We invite you to participate by attending a public meeting or completing the online survey. Your feedback will help the Board decide whether to keep or change the current boundaries.

This review focuses on trustee electoral boundaries, not school attendance zones. It considers population balance, equitable representation, community identity, and compliance with the Education Act. If passed by December 31 of the year before the election, any changes will occur in the next general election.
