"Buckets N Boards is a hilarious and high-energy show chock-full of amazing percussion, ridiculous songs, spectacular tap dancing, inventive instrumentation and an incredible variety of musical talents!" The high-energy show had students laughing, clapping, and tapping along to the fun-filled rhythm. It was a memorable experience that showcased the power of music and comedy, leaving everyone in awe of the incredible talent on stage. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
STUDENT OF THE WEEK K-2
Olivia Cockerham
Olivia starts every day with a positive, ready-to-learn attitude and leads by example in classroom activities throughout the day. She always participates and encourages others to do the same. Olivia's kindness and helpfulness makes our classroom a brighter place!
STUDENT OF THE WEEK 3-5
Fisher Perry
I would like to nominate Fisher Perry as Student of the Week. Fisher comes to school every day prepared and ready to learn! He listens carefully, stays focused, and works hard on his assignments. Fisher consistently demonstrates excellent work ethic and a dedication to doing his best. He is also a kind and supportive friend and classmate, always willing to help others when needed. Fisher's efforts in class and his respectful behavior make him an outstanding student. He is truly a proud PKS Panther!
MIDDLE SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
STUDENT OF THE WEEK 6-8
This week, we are thrilled to spotlight Noslen Garcia as our Student of the Week!
Noslen exemplifies what it means to be an extraordinary friend and a genuinely kind-hearted individual. He consistently goes above and beyond to make those around him feel valued and included. Whether it's offering a helping hand to a classmate, sharing words of encouragement, or simply brightening the day with his warm smile, Noslen is a true ray of sunshine in our school community. One of Noslen's standout qualities is his remarkable ability to be a friend to everyone. He treats his peers with respect, compassion, and positivity, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. He reminds us all of the power of kindness and friendship, and we are grateful to have him as part of our school.
Congratulations, Noslen, on being our PBIS Student of the Week! You truly shine as a wonderful role model for your peers.
Media Center/Readers are Leaders
Scholastic Book Fair is around the Corner! Book Fair will be open April 14th to `7th and during our very own Specials Night (don’t miss it). Flyers were given out last week, so look through that. It has a scan code for ewallet, this is a great way to purchase books with your child and not have to give them cash. The website is scholastic.com/fair.
This link will take you to Scholastic and you can find out what’s going on!
We had the pleasure of having Officer Mercy come to Kindergarten to share some of the different things she does at her job here at PKS. Kindergarten students are working on a unit about Community Services. After the students asked a million questions, Officer Mercy read a book to the students.
READERS ARE LEADERS
Readers are Leaders: Read! Grow! Bloom! Poetry Month is April – read poems with your child this month. I have many in the Media Center.
The Superintendent’s Remarkable Readers Awards will be presented in late April/early May. The last day to turn in your pages/books read is April 17th. Parents will be invited to attend a presentation at PKS at that time.
Animal Habitat Dioramas made by 1st Grade students are on display on Discovery Blvd.
