A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear School Community,
As we reflect on all we’ve accomplished this year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you—our dedicated staff, students, and families. Your commitment and support create an environment where our students not only learn but truly grow and thrive.
Together, we have fostered a space of curiosity, kindness, and resilience. Thank you for your hard work, your caring, and for the positive impact you make in the lives of our students every day. I am incredibly proud of all we have achieved and look forward to continuing our journey of excellence together.
With sincere appreciation,
Carole Oliphant
Principal
Let’s bounce back from the break and make every day count—see you bright and early, ready to learn and grow on December 2!
It’s time for our myOn/Sora Reading Thanksgiving Challenge! Students can access myOn on their IPads so it’s an easy way for them to read each day during the Thanksgiving break.
Primary vs Intermediate: the group with the most students who read 3 hours or more during the break will get to select a stuffy or hat day!
The grade level with the most students who read 3 hours or more during the break will get an extra recess!
The class with the most students who read 3 hours or more during the break will get a special treat!
The top 10 readers in the school will receive a certificate and a book!
Soaring Eagles Challenge
Students had an amazing time during our October Soaring Eagles Challenge! This school-wide event brought so much fun and excitement as we focused on working together to show SOAR: safety, ownership, attitude, and respect throughout our school. Staff members celebrated students for positive actions as well as kindness and responsibility.
The results were fantastic! Classes who earned the most Eagles across all grade levels earned sweet treats, and the top-performing grades celebrated with extra recess. Intermediate grades took the lead in the Primary vs. Intermediate challenge, earning a bubble party. And our entire school came together to far surpass our school-wide goal, earning a whopping 655 Eagles and celebrating with a cozy PJ and hat Day. Thank you to our students and staff for making this such a fun and successful celebration of great behavior!
2nd graders in Mrs. Olsen’s class had a special visit from Sergeant Major Jon Gerand, a member of the Army National Guard and Firestone Firefighter, for their Veterans Day Celebration. Sergeant Major Gerand read a book about veterans, shared personal experiences, answered thoughtful questions from the students, and led them in some fun drills! It was an inspiring and educational experience that helped our students better understand the importance of honoring those who serve. Thank you to our guest for making the day so memorable!
ASD Field Trip
Students in Mrs. Rivera, Mrs. Smith, and Ms. Koh’s classes had a memorable experience at the Fort Collins Discovery Museum, where they got the chance to explore and learn while having fun! The sensory exhibits brought an exciting twist to music, history, and cultural aspects. Every student was able to explore at their own pace and try new things! Special thanks to our staff and parent volunteers for making it all possible.
Thank you!
We were honored to have members of the Rotary Club visit our 3rd grade Eagles to talk about the importance of education and lifelong learning. As part of their visit, each 3rd grader received their very own dictionary—a wonderful gift to support their vocabulary and literacy skills. A big thank-you to the Rotary Club for their generosity and for inspiring our students to keep learning and growing!
Veterans Day Concert
Our 4th grade Eagles put on a spectacular Veterans Day Concert, honoring those who have served in the armed forces. They also wrote letters and presented them, along with a carnation, to the veterans in attendance at the concert. Thank you to all our families and community members who joined us for this special event. Your support helps instill a sense of gratitude and patriotism in our students!
District Honor Choir
Congratulations to our talented singers, Ellie D, Mia G, Charli H, Hailey M, and Zoey S, who represented our school in the District Honor Choir! Their hard work and dedication were on full display as they performed beautifully. We’re so proud of their accomplishments and look forward to more musical milestones!

Kindness Week
During Kindness Week, our 3rd grade Eagles participated in a fun and meaningful activity where they decorated t-shirts with compliments for their classmates. It was a wonderful way to spread positivity and encourage students to recognize the unique qualities in one another. The shirts were a bright display of kindness, and the students truly embraced the spirit of spreading goodwill! Let’s continue to practice kindness every day!
