Good afternoon Mustang Families, Friends, Faculty and Students!
October is a busy month - we are in the full swing of school, and yet it's very new. Please continue to support your students by checking their Aspen grades as well as their google classrooms (many teachers use them). Aspen grades are required to update every two weeks, but google classrooms will inform you about late papers, missing papers, and papers waiting to be graded - it's usually a better judge of what's missing and what's not!
October 14 is Indigenous Peoples' Day, so there is no school. The building is entirely closed. That Wednesday, October 16, there are no after school sessions at McCarthy for a special training session with the staff. The following Wednesday is an early release with no after school sessions. If your student needs to stay after with the staff (English teachers), please check with them for their makeup day.
School Photo Makeup day is also October 23. If your student needs a packet, they should stop by the guidance suite - they are right in that lobby. School pics have been placed in staff mailboxes for delivery on Monday. Students who are not satisfied have to return their packets the day of re-takes.
Parent teacher conferences are at the end of the month on October 24 and 30. They are by appointment only, so be sure to look for information from your students' team. Please make sure you are checking your spam and junk folders so that they do not get missed!
Student Updates and Information
Our McCarthy clubs are slowly taking form! Please look for updates as we add new activities for students in the upcoming weeks including Craft Club, Best Buddies, and STEM club!
McCarthy Ski and Snowboard Club:
Sign-ups for the ski and snowboard club are open. We will be going to Pat's Peak on the first 5 Wednesdays in January/February. Use this link to sign up. Our access code is McCarthy2025. There is an early bird discount if you sign up before November 15 and registration closes on December 1. There is a separate bus cost, that information will come out in November . Girls' Basketball
There will be a general information meeting for anyone interested in trying out for Girls’ Basketball this winter. The meeting will take place on Thursday , October 10th during advisory in the Health room A118. Please contact Coach Tave if you have any questions and/or concerns. Thank you .
McCarthy Players - Drama Club
The McCarthy Players are performing High School Musical in Spring 2025! Auditions will be Nov. 4 and 6 with Call backs on Nov. 7th. Auditions will run from 3-5pm. Please plan to stay the whole time. Sign up outside of Guidance during lunches! If you have questions See Ms. Rock O'Hara in C217
