Your Primary Academic Director
My personal belief statement-
The reason and intention in all that I do is guided by: dedication, loyalty, honesty, authenticity and nurturing. The impact that I make is because I am a communicator, planner and teacher. In life, I hope to be a great person for my family. This is important and connects me to the work that I do because relationships are my foundation.

Our staff has been working hard in professional learning and making plans for our scholars. They are committed to making sure we have the best instruction in every classroom on a daily basis.
We have had several parent events around school uniforms, cell phone policy and school safety. The attendance showed us that our parents are ready to be partners this year. We will have more events throughout the year and we look forward to learning with you.
I will be sending our my calendar of events to allow us time together so I can learn more about your children. Please stay tuned for those announcements.

Strategic Priorities
Do you know someone that you want to join our FAMILY?
We have spots available in most grade levels and are actively accepting enrollments. We are asking our families to share the great pieces of Williams and encourage others to enroll their children.
We are offering an incentive if you refer a family and they are accepted to Uplift Williams. We will provide your scholar with an embroidered Uplift uniform shirt.
Important Updates
Uniform Info
We had such a great turn out at Meet the Teacher that the uniform supplier ran out of uniforms for Primary scholars. They indicated that they are working on restocking and it might be up to 2 weeks. We understand that this is outside of parents control and there will be a grace period for our policy with the consequences. We are asking that parents do their best to dress their scholars in uniforms or as close to uniform expectations as we work with our suppliers. We appreciate your support and partnership in this matter.
Backpacks
We had many questions about backpacks. Uplift is requiring clear backpacks for ALL scholars. Non-clear backpacks are NOT allowed on campus for safety reasons.
Arrival and Dismissal info
At Williams, we prioritize scholar learning and we practice bell to bell instruction. We are asking that scholars arrive at 7:30am, so that they are ready for learning which begins with announcements at 7:55. Scholars can have breakfast from 7:30-7:55 in the cafe and then they will be provided with a grab and go breakfast to eat in the classroom. For dismissal, we are teaching until 3:25 and scholars will not be released for carline until 3:30. We have systems in place to ensure this is a smooth process and that all scholars are released in a safe manner.
Parent Communication- Remind Only
As a Prek-12 campus, we are using the Remind communication tool for all school, teacher and parent communication. The codes are listed at the bottom of this newsletter. We are asking that parents join the Williams page and also all grade levels that they have scholars in for this year.
Teachers have the option of using Class Dojo inside the classroom as a positive incentive program for behavior management, but they will not be asking parents to join those class pages. We will NOT use Dojo for teacher to parent communication. Our teachers will also be communicating on a consistent basis via phone, email, notes home and weekly folders. We are committed this year to clear, consistent communication. If you feel this is not the case, please reach out to me.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Connections
The International Baccalaureate (IB) mission is a set of 10 learner outcomes for the 21st century and they should be evident in all scholar and staff actions. They include: inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.
Students are encouraged to take action as a result of their learning to make a difference in the world. Our scholars will focus on an outcome each month and we will highlight that learning in this family newsletter.
