Kindergarten Transition
For families with a child entering Kindergarten in the 2025-26 school year, the website below provides valuable information about Kindergarten. On February 3rd, all elementary schools will host a Kindergarten Round-Up presentation. Additionally, a survey link will be available in Infinite Campus in February for ELC students transitioning to Kindergarten.
Please note that all Kindergarten-eligible students must transition to Kindergarten, as state guidelines do not allow them to remain in the ELC for an additional year. Kindergarten eligibility is defined as children who turn five years old on or before September 1st.
For students with IEPs, transition meetings will be held with the Kindergarten teams, and families will be invited to participate, as your input is a vital part of the process. If your child does not have an IEP or has a speech-only IEP, our early childhood teachers will share relevant information with Kindergarten teachers district-wide to support a smooth transition for all students.
If you have questions about your child's home school or the transition process, please contact me or your child's team.

Our School Psychologists and Social Workers will be presenting Erin's Law in all of our classrooms during the week of December 2nd. Please review the following letter for further information.
Health Information
Our district Health and Wellness Policy supports the state level effort to combat childhood obesity. In addition, we have students in our school with many allergies that we need to keep safe. In support of this effort, we do not celebrate birthdays with food or treats. We recognize that birthdays are an important occasion in a child's life, and we do honor that. Teachers have special birthday traditions in their classrooms to recognize a child’s birthday.
Transportation - Important Information
Please review the My Ride K-12 app for further information on bus routes. As ELC welcomes new students throughout the year, please note that routes may change. Barrington Transportation Company appreciates your flexibility and patience.
