FIVE GUYS Dine & Donate
On January 18th, FIVE GUYS will donate 10% of their sales back to our school community when families mention they are dining in support of Bridge Valley from 4:00-8:00pm. FIVE GUYS, in Cross Keys Plaza on 4399 W Swamp Rd, allows families to order online or in-person, and offers several options for pick-up (and delivery) to meet the needs of each of our families. They offer hotdogs, hamburgers, fries, milkshakes, and even a vegetarian sandwich!
BVE Blood Drive
This month, Bridge Valley will be holding a blood drive on Tuesday, January 25th from 3:30 p.m - 8:30 p.m. The American Red Cross reports that there is a dangerously low blood supply. Your singular donation can give life-saving blood to three patients in need. Please consider donating or pass along the information to a friend or family member who may like to make an appointment.
Home & School Virtual Meeting, January 27th, 7:00pm
All BVE Parents are invited to attend the next Home & School (HSA) meeting scheduled January 27th, at 7pm. Meetings are a chance to connect with administration, teachers, and other Trailblazer parents. Each meeting includes a message from the Principal, highlights of the educational content our Trailblazers are currently learning, as well as updates about current and future HSA sponsored events. If you're feeling disconnected from the school community, THIS is a way to get connected. A TEAMS link will be sent via email closer to the date. We hope to see you there!
FAMILY BINGO NIGHT February 4th, Postponed.
The HSA Executive Board has made the decision to postpone Family Bingo Night till Spring. A new date will be scheduled when the school community can gather together, in-person, without unnecessarily compromising the health and safety of our families. Those who signed-up to volunteer will receive additional communications. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our families as we strive to provide a safe, memorable evening for all to enjoy later this year.

January’s Sparks newsletter article
In a recent article by psychologist Louis Tay, he states, “Don’t push your children toward skills just because they pay well. Financial success is only one dimension of a fulfilling life.” Teaching our children to understand and value money can be a challenge in our world especially when we consider what is “needed” and what is “wanted”. As part of our Career Education Program through the District’s Success Plan (Smart Futures and Naviance), we provide lessons and resources on various topics including “How Money is Used” in the primary grades, to budgeting, financial literacy and entrepreneurship in the secondary grades. These are important lessons to help your daughter or son see a path to their future goals and a means to attain those goals. Ask your student to log onto these platforms and show you what they are learning.
