Dear Skokie Families,

I am reaching out with an update from our administrative team as we begin to plan for the 2025/2026 school year. Mr. Larry Joynt has accepted a position as the principal at another District, pending Board approval this evening. While it is bittersweet to share the news that Mr. Joynt will be leaving Skokie, we wish him the very best in this transition and are grateful for his leadership over the past six years as an administrator in Winnetka. We know this school community is gaining a fantastic leader and teammate. We are also confident that The Skokie School is well-poised to attract and welcome its next Assistant Principal given a stellar staff and dedicated parent community. I want to provide you with some information about how we are planning for this transition.

This open administrative position for the 2025/2026 school year will be posted tomorrow and a search will begin immediately. We will work closely with Ms. Cooney to include Skokie staff, families and students as we select a new Assistant Principal. Ultimately, we aim to be able to name a highly qualified individual for the role by the April School Board meeting, but will prioritize selecting an ideal candidate over the timeline.
