RES Weekly Buzz
Our classrooms have been bustling with holiday cheer as we approach our winter break. We kicked off the week with the RES Holiday Concert, which was FABULOUS! Many thanks to Ms. Weaver, Ms. Shaw-Reese, and our students for providing us with such lovely music. They are a talented group of musicians, and I'm thrilled they performed to such a large audience.
Some of our classes spent time doing holiday activities with their "buddy" grades, which we love to see. Our older students have taken on the responsibility of setting a good example for our younger friends. They are forming lovely friendships, too—many thanks to our teachers for organizing these fun activities throughout the school year.
As we head into the last week before winter break, we remind our students that while we will have some fun moments celebrating the holidays together, there is still important school work. Thank you for reiterating this at home, too.

FYI: Monday,12/16 is our annual Holiday dinner sponsored by the Rockport Police Department. The menu will be as follows:
Roast Turkey with Gravy
Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes
Green Beans
For those that do not wish to have turkey there will be Sun butter & Jelly available.

Juggling Club is held on Thursdays from 8-8:45 am in the RES gymnasium for grades 2-5. If you want to sign up your student(s), you can Sign up here.

Calling all photographers!
If anyone has photos of RES students participating in after hours, school based activities and would like to submit them for consideration in the yearbook, please send them to Mrs. Collins
The “Saving Makes Cents” Program with the Cape Ann Savings Bank is back at RES, and they will be at school on Thursdays from 8:30-8:45 in the RES Foyer for Grades 3-5.
New participants must complete the attached form and send it in with your child on any Thursday with $5.00 or more to start. A bank representative will be in the main foyer as the children enter the school for the day and will set up accounts as they come in. Parents do not need to accompany children. (Current participants can bring their book and bag and continue).

Winter is coming and it is getting colder outside. Please remember that students will still go outside for recess, specials, and classroom activities. It is important that students dress appropriately for the weather each day. Please make sure your child dresses warmly and brings a jacket, hat and gloves to school.
Make sure your child brings a water bottle and snack to school every single day. Snacks and meal items must be nut-free.

The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, in collaboration with the U.S. Postal Service has reopened COVIDtests.gov as of today, so that households across the country can order four additional over-the-counter COVID-19 tests for free. These tests are intended for use throughout the 2024 holiday season to detect currently circulating COVID-19 variants. Clear instructions are included on how to verify extended expiration dates
