Celebrating a Wonderful Year & Bidding Farewell to Jeff Sawyer
We truly had a fantastic time celebrating the dedication and hard work of our school teams committed to family engagement. A big thank you to all the schools that attended — your presence made the event special! If you couldn’t join us this time, you were missed, and we look forward to seeing you at future gatherings.
We also took a special moment to honor Jeff Sawyer, our beloved Palo Verde Family Resource Center Coordinator. Jeff’s incredible legacy, compassion, and leadership have made a lasting impact across our district. We are deeply grateful for all you’ve contributed, Jeff — your influence will be felt for years to come. To top it off, we had an appearance by Mr. Frank Armenta, whose energy and passion added excitement as we closed out another impactful year.
Here’s to a year full of growth, community, and memories — and to welcoming new opportunities ahead!

Community Partner Spotlight | Ramon Murillo III Foundation
We want to shine a light on Ramon Murillo III Foundation, a passionate initiative dedicated to bringing our community together to support children in need. Inspired by the late Ramon’s love for golf and shoes, this fund directly helps kids living in poverty who cannot afford proper footwear, school supplies, or sports gear.
Thanks to this incredible effort, many students in TUSD schools received a new pair of shoes, helping them feel confident and prepared to learn and participate fully in school activities. Entire schools have been awarded, making a real difference in the lives of hundreds of TUSD students.
We are truly grateful to have such a caring community and foundation working tirelessly to make a positive impact. To learn more, participate, or reach out, please visit their Website HERE.
On behalf of the Family & Community Engagement Department and TUSD, we thank the Ramon Murillo III Foundation for their dedication and generosity in supporting our students and our community.
