CURRICULUM NIGHTS
I would like to thank our entire school community for such successful Curriculum Nights. The turn-out was great! I would also like to thank our WEB student leaders who were a visible and enthusiastic presence in the hallways assisting our parents/guardians. Our goal for these nights is to provide curricular information and give parents the opportunity to become more familiar with the adults spending so much time with your children. If you have any lingering questions as a result of these evenings, please do not hesitate to contact your student’s teachers.
Supporting your child’s school and being involved in our curriculum night sends a strong message to your children about the importance of school. As parents, we have the greatest influence on our children. Attending school functions sends them the message that their education is important and significant. Thanks for supporting your student’s learning and Thompson Middle School!
WHAT DID YOU LEARN TODAY….
I am excited that the new school year has arrived. We are off to a great start! I would encourage you to take advantage of all possible learning opportunities with your middle-schooler. One way you can do this is by choosing your words carefully. For example, instead of asking your child, “what he/she did at school today?”~~ Ask he/she, “what they LEARNED today?” Changing the question ever so slightly might really change the response you receive.
PRINCIPAL COFFEE
I have set aside several times this year to meet with parents. This time is structured so that I can be available to speak with parents and answer any questions that might be presented. The first opportunity to get together will be on Tuesday, September 24th from 10:00 - 11:00 am in the conference room by the LRC. Anyone interested in participating should stop in the main office at that time. I look forward to meeting with Thompson parents!
Enjoy your weekend!
~Steve
