Redistricting: Creating a Long-Term Plan for Excellence and Equity in Education
Hello West Seneca Families,
We hope you are doing well and *thinking Spring*, although it can be difficult lately when the weather cannot seem to make up its mind!
Our Redistricting Committee met on March 20th and were split into groups. They immediately started to assess all of the feedback that came in from all stakeholders(parents, staff & community members). Then, each team made short presentations of their interpretation of the reflections.
The team then considered whether or not to engage in a “deep dive” study to gauge the realistic implementation of any recommendation currently under consideration. After a decision-making process, the team had expressed an interest in learning the results of a deep study of all the plans presented at the community meeting without offering any formal opinion on a recommendation. Tony offered that he and Dr. Krueger were meeting with the Board of Education and would let them know the Board’s feedback following that meeting(which we have included below).
Thank you for your time - have a great rest of your day!
Board of Education Work Session Summary
This update outlines the three proposed options for restructuring the school district to address capacity constraints while maintaining effective educational levels. The options consider the current boundaries and propose changes to improve the distribution of students across schools.

Below you will find the buttons that link you to the meeting agenda, the presentation that was used during the meeting, as well as the meeting minutes. We will be sending these out after every committee meeting. You can also find them on the Redistricting portion of our website.
(*It should be noted that the authority to change School District boundaries rests with the NYS Commissioner of Education; it is not something our Redistricting Committee or Board of Education has the authority to do. For example: If some of you reading this technically live in Cheektowaga - we cannot suddenly send you to Cheektowaga Schools.)
Questions?
We encourage your questions* regarding redistricting and would like to continue building a FAQ on our website that is updated as questions come to us during the course of our redistricting process. As such, we have designated a district email address for you to send those to. We will not be answering those questions via email, they will be posed and answered on our FAQ. (We welcome constructive feedback to the following email as well.)
