3rd Quarter Grades
The 3rd Quarter ends on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Make sure your grades are entered by Friday, April 8, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. Also make sure you have access to all of the students you see daily. If changes need to be made you must let me know by the end of the day on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
Independent Reading
Reavis will begin Independent Reading as a whole school on tomorrow, April 5, 2016. It will take place daily from 2:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. The remaining 30 minutes must be used for intervention time. I will walk around to monitor and make sure Independent Reading is taking place at the identified time, so if you must do it at another time due to scheduling conflicts please let me know immediately. You will receive the daily tracking sheet in your mailbox tomorrow. I will also place reading logs in your mailbox to be used for documentation of books read.
Absences
Please follow the Reavis protocol for taking days off. If you know you will be off two weeks in advance, please report your absence in Aesop two weeks in advance. Reporting the absence at the last minute is not fair to anyone. Subs are not available at late notice and that means cancelled preps for your colleagues. Also, make sure your sub plans are up to date and that you have already duplicated enough copies of each document for each of your students. The office will not be able to make copies for you. Failure to submit adequate and appropriate emergency lesson plans will result in disciplinary action.
Student Supervision
After several reminders I still see students in the hallway for disciplinary reasons. Please know that it is your responsibility to monitor your students at all times. Students who are in the hallway are not being supervised. If something occurs, you will be responsible. Please protect the students and yourself by making sure that you are not placing students in the hallway unattended.
Student Behavior
This is the time of year where it is necessary to review PBIS and CHAMPS expectations with your students. Also, review the Behavior Handbook that I have placed in your mailboxes as a reminder of which behaviors are teacher-managed and which ones should be referred to the office. Sending students to the office for teacher-managed behaviors is absolutely unacceptable.
