Congratulations, SEA Robotics!
This week, the SEA Robotics participated in the 2024-2025 NLMUSD VEX High-Stakes Competition held at La Mirada High School.
This year was a special year for the team as our founding student members who persevered over time got to participate in the competition one last time in their senior year. The students’ journey has been marked by hard work, perseverance, teamwork, and endless dedication of their time and sweat.
The Southeast Academy Robotics Team earned first place in this year’s competition!
The competition lasted 3 hours with each team playing 9 rounds of matches and came out on top gapping their nearest competition by two full rounds worth of points! The trio gave countless hours to this task as many of you can attest and this and the results were to no surprise to their commitment to excellence.
Please take a moment to congratulate our students.

ATHLETICS
Student Athlete Cencere Waller 12th Grade, Pictured With Teacher Ms. Carbajal
How long have you been playing football?
I’ve been playing for 2 years at John Glenn, but I also played Pop Warner in LA. when I was younger. I’ve been playing consistently at corner-back, but I also play as a wide receiver. Overall though I like playing wide receiver more, there is a greater opportunity for touch downs.
What is your favorite football memory so far ?
I would have to say the last couple of years. We had a lot of seniors on the team and it was great to work with them, I was only a sophomore back then. Now as a senior, I try to work up the younger players coming through.
What are your plans for after high school?
Going to college, I’ll be going to Cerritos. I’ll be doing the general courses, but also focus on cosmetology to become a barber. Of courses also focus on the business management classes as well.
Who is your favorite teacher?
Oh man that’s a tough one, but I would say Mr Wroten. He’s just a great person. He’s always been there for me, and is a great listener. He also makes history interesting, makes you think of looking at the world from different points of view.
