PRINCIPAL'S PAGE
Hello North!
First... sorry for the close up on my video! Yikes! :)
We are excited to begin planning for the 2025-26 school year! Starting in January, school counselors will begin meeting with students to assist them in selecting courses for the upcoming year. The Course Catalog is now available and can be accessed here. This catalog is an essential tool to help guide students in planning their high school course program, offering a wide range of core courses, exciting electives, and opportunities for college credit.
We encourage students to explore their passions and interests as they make their selections. One of the most important factors in college admissions is the academic rigor of a student's course load. We encourage students to challenge themselves with a schedule that aligns with their abilities, pushing them to succeed in their most rigorous coursework. Teachers will be providing course recommendations for next year, but if a student is not recommended for a course they are interested in, we advise having a conversation with their current teacher to better understand the recommendation.
For our current juniors, we strongly encourage you to consider challenging yourselves further. In addition to full-year and half-year electives, colleges look for four years of math and science, as well as other advanced coursework. Instead of opting for an early release or late arrival, consider taking college-level classes to enhance your transcript.
We are looking forward to helping every student make the most of their academic journey. I hope everyone has a wonder two weeks off for Winter Recess! See you in the New Year!
Go Spartans!

Seal of Biliteracy Program
The District’s application to offer the New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Seal of Biliteracy program at each of our high schools was approved for the 2024-2025 school year. The New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB) recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages, in addition to English.
The intent of the NYSSB is to encourage the study of languages; identify high school graduates with language and biliteracy skills for employers; provide universities with additional information about applicants seeking admission; prepare students with twenty-first century skills; recognize the value of world and home language instruction in schools; and affirm the value of diversity in a multilingual society. The NYSSB takes the form of a special seal that bestows an honor to the student. The seal is affixed on the student’s diploma and there is a notation of the award on the official transcript.
